Staying in Modesto for work and found this place while taking a walk. Was hoping to squeeze off some rounds for fun but apparently you can’t rent a gun to shoot unless you have a second person with you due to insurance policies. That’s a real shame and I hope CSS doesn’t support this practice and has at least tried to find a better insurance company - really hope it isn’t industry standard for the state. Aside from that, the store was incredibly clean and organized. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to find out what ammo costs were, but range time and rental fees were very reasonable. Wish I could’ve done some shooting but despite being licensed to carry concealed weapons in three states with six years of combat-arms military experience, I couldn’t because I didn’t bring a babysitter with me.

Nice place. Clean. Staff helpful and easygoing. A little short with folks sometimes but not rude at all. Overall the staff is great and the facility is in good shape and lends itself to smooth times for all.

I highly recommend the Intro to Handguns Course, it's a perfect introduction to handgun safety and proper body positioning. They provide the handguns, ammunition, eye, and ear protection. The instructors were very safety oriented but very approachable and helpful, exactly what you would want in an instructor. I went with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time, we can't wait to go back!

Very nice and clean facility. The staff was polite, professional and clear with the rules. Oh, super clean bathrooms!

Clean range, the staff was friendly even when I broke a rule. They informed my politely about the safety of all the customers and the day was fun and smooth. Definitely recommend 👍🏾
