This is a great and very affordable camp. I went here as a kid in the 80's and my daughter goes here now. She went 1 week the first year, and has done multiple weeks since then.
This is a rustic camp where your children can swim and boat in a beautiful pond, learn arts and crafts, enjoy sports, and participate in activities like theater arts and weekly dances.
They will do all of this while enjoying an un-plugged experience and a chance to embrace a natural environment that seems to be almost foreign to today's children.
The socialization that your child will experience will change their perspective on things like teamwork, unity and friendship. The types of peer interactions they will have are ones that are currently unavailable to our children in a society where kids can no longer enjoy something as simple as a walk to the park on their own without the fear of the parents getting a visit from the authorities. I am not saying that these children are without supervision, but a little independence has had a great impact on my kid for sure.
If affordability is your thing (and especially if you have a couple of kids) you can't beat the price of this overnight camp. Its price is competitive even with many of the day-camps in the area and offers so much more than a day camp could give.
So, long-winded review, but in the end if you want your children to experience a level of independence in a safe and endearing environment where they will make friends and memories for life then look no further than Camp Berger.

I went to Berger for several summers as a kid and I wish I could go back as an adult! It was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did I have fun and make great friends that I still have today but I learned a lot. Berger taught me how to be part of a team, take responsibility and step out of my comfort zone. I had a difficult time in middle school and camp gave me the opportunity to take a break from it all and be around people that enjoyed the same things that I did. It was very therapeutic to spend 6 weeks at a beautiful camp with lots of laughter, dancing, and games. I loved how the staff really got into the themes for each week and always had something new and exciting planned for us. I cannot say enough about CB and look forward to sending my kids there someday!

LOVE THIS CAMP #summercamp. No they do not allow electronics here you actually have to talk to people and have good old fashion fun, games, arts and crafts. They allow down time and do not force you to do certain programs as many camps do. They are a family run camp that truly prides itself on ensuring kids have a good time. My daughter called home once in 2 weeks just to check on her cat, i asked if she was having fun she said of course and i asked if she missed us she said i guess but its so cool here i don't even think about it. I am so surprised that anyone would not want to send their child to a place that en-stills values, independence, exploration and fun.
