Do not rent here! Overall, the experience at Campustown 119 Stanton was awful. Constant issues including: maintenance issues, elevator issues, safety issues, and more. The apartments are cheaply built to extract as much money as they can from students. The apartments are cheaply built with the bare minimum necessities, and even then, most are broken or have issues. The walls are paper thin, and if you are the unlucky few with loud neighbors, you will not be able to sleep. The heating, A/C, and appliances at this apartment complex do not work properly and constantly have issues. The management is predatory and sends constant notifications informing students to renew, renew, and RENEW! Do not be fooled, the apartment is close to campus at an affordable price, but the year you live here will be the worst possible experience you will have at an apartment complex. Worst part is the management company is located out of Texas, and has one simple priority -- to take as much money as possible out of you. I will not be renewing my lease here, and will forever warn students of renting here because it is simply not worth it. The only possible explanation for people to live here is for students who will do poorly in school and party away their college years. Please, for the sake of your sanity and health, stay away from here. If I could give this place 0 stars, or less, I would -- this is not a place you want to live.
Would give no stars if possible. Was charged 50$ to repaint my room after I had bought the paint they told me to buy and did it myself. Maintenance will come into your room unannounced, which is scary as a young females living alone. Campus town staff will also come into your apartment unannounced for "checks"???? The hot tub never worked and the pool was closed for an entire summer. The elevator in my apartment broke almost every week. If you live here they will charge you as much as possible after move out for cleaning fees even if you spent a whole day cleaning it yourself. I was told before signing my lease by multiple people not to live with Campus Town and I should have listened.
Half of the gym equipment is broken, or barely functional. If you pay for parking get ready for your car to get broken into and vandalized with no action from management to fix the situation. I would highly recommend picking somewhere other than campustown if you want to live somewhere safe and well maintained.
Absolutely under no circumstances should someone choose to live with campustown especially at 119 Stanton. The amenities are very cheaply made and within one month our dishwasher bursted a pipe that flooded our entire apartment and ruined the one below us. We were given no compensation for the paint rubbed off nor for our electricity bill which tripled from the previous month as water was getting pumped with our unit’s electricity and into our bathtub. This caused mold and more paint everywhere to peel and now that our lease is done, we were each slammed with over $200 in “poor paint” and uncleaned bathtub fees. They don’t actually look into helping their residents and would rather scam you the second they can.
Never rent from these people. They charged my roommates and I $150 each and said they had to repaint an entire room? How is that even possible. Along with this they never answer any maintenance requests and falsely advertise the things like working internet and even working washing machines. The floors where so dirty when we moved in the soles of our feet turned black. Took an entire week of deep cleaning to get the apartment in livable condition and for those efforts they kindly charged us $150 each!
Bogus. Shut of water to our apartment for 8 hours when it was suppose to be one hour. Yeah on the first day of school. Looked like a rat first class. Toilets been running for 3 hours wont stop. This is pain.
The maintenance service is quite behind the standard because of its latency and improficiency. The landlord is giving little respect to the residents in terms of privacy and calmness. The gym and pool are close most of the time. The environment is quite busy and the thin walls cause too much noise to be heard. Not suitable for graduate students at all.
My experience with Campustown was a great one! Alyssa was the leasing agent I worked with and she was very knowledgeable. You could tell that she was very confident and knew her stuff. This was my first time searching for an apartment outside of Highschool and Alyssa was able to put my mind at ease. It was a great experience and I would recommend Campustown to any of my friends.
A few things. The things I liked about this place is the maintenance were pretty on point and well managed, the staff are well trained and will respond to your requests and questions well, no doubt. Security was also greatly maintained, even when college students trash through out the place and destroy the keys and everything. However they will try to exploit your pockets as MUCH as possible. Electric bills in the winter is $300 a month non exaggerated because they use electric heat. My cleaning fee was $250 even when I left everything clean $50 for cleaning each room and $100 for throwing out trash?? Late fee was $250 for turning in my keys 4 hours late. It was good experience and bad at the same time, and the bad ones tramp the others pretty good. 0/10 will return to this place or recommend to anyone.
I transferred to ISU last year and have been looking for a place to live that’s affordable and near campus. Looking at multiple places, I finally decided to call Campustown and set up a tour through Noah Miller. He was very nice and thorough in explaining the options to me. He was even able to set me up with a tour. Noah knew a lot about everything Campustown has to offer and gave me some other inside information, as he also lives through a Campustown residence and knows a lot about all of the areas. Great experience!
