Ok company if you need a place for a year or two, we had an old unit that hadn't seen renovation in awhile, rent was gonna go up 125$ when they took over from renters warehousemarket increase they said once our current lease came up for renewal so we decided to find another place, repairs took a long time to get done or were marked done without being preformed. Did not provide a move out list and then charged for cleaning the carpet and the apartment after we spent hours doing that already.
Boyfriend Recently rented a house from them on a sublease was the first misunderstanding. Were told by tenant it was going full lease for him. Our bad. We should have done our homework a little better. Paid the deposit then got a copy of the lease to find out move in is "as is" from how the tenants before him leave it. No cleaning, no trash or what ever is left there removal. He is responsible for all of it. Mislead or not informed about any of this until after the fact. Oh well been screwed before. Still looking forward to moving to it and it was very easy process to getting approved. But I guess we know why know
So, I’m not a renter yet, but I am looking at Triplett for a sublet. I have to admit all the poor reviews here are making me very nervous. I’ve always been a good renter and have a decent income, so hopefully there will be no issues. I have to move in from out of state in a bit of a hurry, and can’t find anything else so short notice. The woman who answered the office phone was VERY vague or dismissive about questions regarding property insurance/ renters insurance and future maintenance issues. I’m looking at a house to sublet and just wanted to know what the procedure was for potential issues like plumbing repairs, potential storm damage, broken heat, etc. She literally would not be clear on who deals with these issues. It’s a cute house though and affordable while I save up to buy my own home! I see that Triplett has often responded to these reviews although a bit unprofessionally and sarcastically, and I’m hoping that someone there can assure me that IF something should break, it will be fixed in a timely manner. Other than that, I’ve yet to rent from them, so I couldn’t tell you what they are like! I will update my review once I have more experience with them. Update: so far they have been very helpful in guiding me to a sublease agreement. I haven’t had any issues over the phone with them. Update: the small house I rented is cute but has not been well maintained, more likely due to owner negligence than Triplett themselves. So far, I still have pending maintenance requests, but Triplett is working through them. So far, the front office has been courteous and the “rudeness “ people speak of seems more like an overworked and burned out staff. They have been patient and nice to me so far!
We’ve rented from Triplett for over two years, and it’s been the best apartment we’ve lived in. Our neighbors are friendly; staff at the company has been extremely helpful; the apartment is well maintained and maintenance responds quickly. The rent price is reasonable and the location of our apartment is great.
I rent a duplex through Triplett. My neighbors run a daycare they’re not supposed to I was told by this company, that they do not allow daycares to be run through rental properties and also scream/shout/abuse each other all hours of the day and night. I suspect they use illegal substances regularly because they offered me some twice. I have been calling in complaints for months. Lately I have been calling police and other organizations. Triplett company has been entirely unhelpful. I cant even sleep at the place I pay to live in, nor do I feel safe here. You can be sure Im not getting any sort of refund, even though they aren't keeping their side of the lease agreement. I even called the owner lady of the Triplett company and was met with an extremely snarky response! Check google reviews and you’ll get a true idea of how awful this company is, they remove negative reviews, lie and have awful business practices. Edit- instead of correcting the issue that they said would take 14-20 days they now want me to sublease to solve the issue, theres no way I would ever knowingly rent this situation out to anybody. I didnt know googling a rental agents phone number was “stalking” nor did I know it was after hours. I couldn’t even explain the emergency because she yelled over me to explain it was after hours. As you can see, triplett compny, their owner included, continue to be unbelievably unprofessional. Not only do I feel unsafe in my unit, I feel that this business is not safe to rent from.
One of the worst companies I have ever came across. Kelli is extremely rude and has no care for the properties or her tenants. Not to mention no matter how hard you clean before you move, they will make every excuse in the book to keep your deposit back. STAY AWAY.
I got an ultimatum to renew my lease or else it goes on the market after living in my rental for only a few weeks. That's a tad bit early if you ask me because I hadn't even had time to decide how well I liked the place. So needless to say I was already looking for a new place to live and my boxes weren't even unpacked yet! That being said they've been fairly easy to work with. Pretty responsive to any needs that arise and the staff is friendly.
I have been thoroughly impressed with triplett companies. The office staff was very polite, friendly and helpful. Thanks triplett for making my move easy and non stressful. I recommend using them as your rental company in ames. Best around for sure!
I have had nothing but a pleasant experience with this property management thus far. I filled out my application and was approved and moved into my home within a week. The home was immaculately clean when I moved in.They even have a website where you can download your least and pay your rent....
