Great location near the Galleria. I had stayed here about a year ago and I was pleased with the Hotel. This time it was different story. Checkin on went fine. When I got to the room, the room has a musty cigarette urine smell. I wondered if someone had smoked in the room and had peed on the carpet. The side of the arm chair was badly stained. The mattress was fine. But there was only a thin bedspread and no blanket. The queen bed only had two pillows.. The bedside lamp didn't work, No coffeemaker, the bathroom had a fluorescent light that was about to burn out..There was a hole in in a closet door. The room only had two towels. I went downstairs and asked for more towels and they told me they were out of towels and to come back later. I know this is a budget Hotel. But that is no excuse for doing a better job maintaining the rooms.
I first came here April 30 2021and I have stayed at this property ever since. I have never experienced any issues here. I have always been treated with kindness and respect from everyone from the GM down to the housekeepers. I love it here, it’s quiet, I have never had to complain about noise or about anything really. When I first checked in. Housekeeping came once a week. I signed a year lease and since they have started to transition into apartments. All utilities paid, WiFi , gym, and basic cable all included. No where is perfect for everyone. But my Studio has been perfect for me going on 3 years now.
I walked in to check in and the lobby smelled like weed. Also smelled like weed down the halls. Then I get up to the room went to turn the air on the bedroom and living room/kitchen never got cool, counter top was sticky, bed didn't have a comforter on it. When I got ready to go take a shower I turned the water on and turned the shower head on well water was barely coming out of the head but also was coming out if the faucet. The next night we came in the lobby smelled like weed again. Our room never got stocked or towels picked up from the night before. I had to go down stairs and ask for towels and rags well the guy at the desk told me he had to dry some cause they were washing, mind you this was like at 8:45pm. I waited up til 10:30pm still no towels. I also told the guy about the ac and shower head abd faucet. He did tell me that he could have put me in another room. Why would I want to move all my stuff for one more night. I told him I would just deal with the ac not cooling the rooms.
If you're looking for a safe, quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient and friendly place... look no further. I always search for this property everytime I travel to Houston cause of all the amenities and location. The front desk representatives are always attentive to my needs... namely Travis who goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is pleasant and hassle free. Thank you to the entire staff for making this property my home away from home when I visit Houston.
When I get to the property My reservation was booked wrong on Expedia and the front desk attendant was trying to help but her manager rudely interrupted our conversation and I had to sleep in my car until early morning only to be facing a inconvenien fee that was not explained at the time of checking in and when I spoke to Expedia they transferred me to motel that looks like a trap spot on I/10 Freeway that I would never recommend to anyone. Please be aware of your booking because people only wants to make money no true care and concern for the guest.
Honestly is was not even close to being a decent experience, The lady that checked us in was not friendly, not rude either, just blunt, like let me check you in and get out of my face type personality, room was not clean, stuff was on the floor, not vacuumed, the towels were literally falling apart, and you can see the wash cloth didn't even make it through one shower, went down stairs to ask for another pillow and blanket the lady didn't want to give me one, towels I had to wait till next morning, when I asked for a pillow case and was told they don't do that, needless to say another guest heard the conversation and they loaned me their pillow, the room had no heat, I had the unit at 90 and was still cold, I ended up turning the shower on hot to warm up the room. When I tried to ask for another room the lady didn't even let me finish, she just said we don't have rooms to change thanks you, and went back to what she was doing. And not to mention that the place smelled like a pot house on the third floor, the whole hall way smelled like weed. And the elevator looked like it could fall any minute, the buttons were broke, the panel was open. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all, specially for anyone that comes to Houston like we do for medical procedures. Unfortunately we had to stay the 7th to the 9th, no other places available due to National championship game. Still would recommend this place at all. One more thing I forgot to mention, the little recliner in the room was peeling on the head rest and the arm rest. And the shower didn't work until I had to sit there and scrap thw shower head for the water to come out right, the fridge didn't get cold , and they only had 1 spoon and 1 fork, how in the world would a couple with a baby is supposed to eat??
This hotel has the worst management that I've ever seen. She was the meanest lady for no reason. Very aggressive and rude to all guests. Treated us like scum. My wife's mother had just died and when I brought This up to her so she'd go a little easier on my girl, she said ''that doesn't matter, we don't care about all that " I didn't get the deposit back And was charged for 3 different nighthat I didn't even stay there. Worst experience ever and she should be fired because she is cruel and hateful. For no reason, just mean-spirited and ugly acting. When there's no reason to do that to people especially in the hospitality industry
The online reviews and photos are misleading, the price should have been an indication of the hotel, but the rating showed as a good hotel in a good location, however this hotel was awful, it was dirty, smelled like weed and could not wait to leave. I would not recommend it to ANYONE, there are lots of hotels within 5-10 minutes that are much nicer. I will let the pictures of the room show you what to expect, yes those are bite marks on the couch.
Was sent to Sonesta when the air conditioning went down at the motel where I had a reservation. When I walked into the foyer with my luggage I knew it was a low ball operation from its layout and finish. When I got to my room first thing I noticed was trash cans in kitchen and bathroom already had trash on them. Second thing I noticed was there were no towels. Tried to call the office but line was constantly busy, so I walked a long way to the foyer and asked the front desk man for towels and washcloths. He replied that there weren't any. I asked when some would be available and he replied "tomorrow". I asked what time tomorrow and he said he didn't know but it would be later in the day. Returned to my room and tried to adjust ac unit. Controls must have been broken because I could not adjust the temperature. Had flown in for MDAnderdson and was tired and had no car and was hungry so I walked about a half mile to the nearest restaurant and ate and returned to my room. Since the room was cold and the unit would not adjust properly I looked for a blanket for the bed. There was none in the room and none available at the office. I slept in street clothes. With no towels or washcloths I could not shower or clean up next morning. When I sat on the couch to change into fresh socks, I bent down and discovered that there were spots on the floor where things had been spilled and not cleaned up. Apparently waxed over? Looked around and found a lot more of same. I went to my appointment in some disarray. I was very happy to get my regular motel and made this same complaint to the manager who upgraded my room and refunded the points it was paid with plus a bonus. This is a cheapish I don't know what it cost my regular motel paid for it long term residence operation, poorly managed, dirty, and unless you want to repeat my night of Hell I strongly suggest you AVOID IT.
This is not really a hotel to be very honest, I am unsure why maps lists it as one still. It probably was a hotel back in the eighteen hundreds or something but now it's halfway in getting converted into cheap housing apartments for the less fortunate. Initially I booked this hotel for two months as I required that long of stay and also because the price was fair for that duration and the reviews were good, little did I know, please don't be duped by the postive reviews like I did. This hotel is really necessitous and outdated. They have no housekeeping anytime during the stay because of some corona-protocol nonsense which I strongly think is just bogus to save the extra employee wage. Additionally, the flush in the bathroom has like a 20-PSI water-pressure flush system so bring a plunger if you decide to stay here and the light in the bathroom was definitely not invented by Edison as it's super dim, it was probably made in a Chinese laboratory or something as per my theory. Overall, quite the shady place! The new employees they have hired are kind of polite, but they have zero clue on how the hotel runs so best of luck getting your queries answered as a new guest and the knowledgeable ladies who have been working here for ages are just cheaply rude on your face, so either way you are doomed. The bed is not a queen either it's at most a double claimed by the hotel-apartment as a queen, also it squeaks and bounces everytime you change directions while sleeping. Luckily for myself, within two days of staying here out of the two months booked, I am super glad I got out on the third day and booked elsewhere much much better as I would've not survived their a week let alone the two months. I mean if your short on funds and living on pennies then sure this place is probably like your personal mansion, but since very fortunately that is not the case with me I felt like I was living in the slums. Hopefully, this review brings some insight to potential guests, definitely not saying don't book here, but surely do proceed with caution considering all the factors of your financial status and your trip. Best of luck!
