Such a lovely beautiful boutique! Went into exchange a Charleston Classic, a rice bead bracelet, my bestie gave me for my birthday last month. Love it but I live alone and it was too difficult for me to put on alone. The lovely lady in the store who was super chic, was super helpful, welcoming and informative. She let me know that they could size the bracelet. I really wanted a necklace so she kindly let me browse and I decided on the longest rose gold rice bead necklace which can double as a bracelet, similarly to the way she had styled her black one. They happily exchanged it for a necklace and I'm excited to wear it! Thanks for your help today and being so sweet! This shop has amazing pieces and that have been used in many movies and TV series including Mad Men! Also the super friendly dog 'Birthday' loves people and is usually in the shop!

I went to Candy Shop Vintage for the first time during my trip to Charleston. I wanted to get Charleston Rice Beads designed by Deirdre, the owner of the store, as a souvenir to remember my trip by. I love the whole idea of vintage - reuse, repurpose, recycle, so I'm always excited to explore vintage stores during my travels. However, most of such stores have a very "old" feel and you have to have time to search for treasures. Candy Shop Vintage is different - the store is new (they opened in April of 2015) and very small, but clean and bright (gorgeous feminine decor). All items are organized beautifully and displayed in a way where you can browse quickly and look at things without having to ask someone to take things out of cases (like most similar stores do). There's a section of true vintage treasures (costume jewelry, bags and other accessories) and a section of vintage-inspired costume jewelry. They also have beautiful silk scarves, books, jewelry care items and Charleston souvenirs (tea towels, linen napkins, etc.). And if you love cute packaging, you will love theirs! Everything from the tags to shopping bags is absolutely adorable. The girl that was working that day was very friendly. She answered many of my questions about different items in the store and at the end helped me choose the color of Rice Beads (I decided to go with shiny gold). If you're visiting Charleston and want to take home a souvenir that you will wear again and again, you should definitely stop by this store!

Cute shop. Well curated and maintained. Love the chs rice necklaces and bracelets! Very symbolic and classy souvenir.
