Whoever made order 860912442 for Kay, your hair was in my sandwich bottom right of second pic. Since my lunch was ruined, I decided to leave a review. Also as we all know capers are very salty so you don’t need to put so much. 23 bucks straight to trash can. Styrofoam cups are a bit archaic but it doesn’t matter, I won’t be back.Food: 1/5
I’ve lived in Columbia for 5 years and have FINALLY been able to try this place. Conveniently located between the state house, campus, and some student apartment living. Parking can be challenging but it’s a great place to go prior, during, or after church… The food: it’s priced great. It taste… good. It’s a bagel for crying out loud, not a Michelin star meal! Diverse menu options with how many bagels you can get. I went with a classic Lake Murray: Locks, Capers, and Cream Cheese and onions. It ain’t my NJ girlfriends mothers, but it will DO. The coffee was actually astounding. I was delightfully surprised by how good their coffee was. Felt like a Folgers commercial moment. The atmosphere: I’ve only seen lines wrapped around the door as if it’s a job fair in the 1930s, but on this unbusy Sunday, it was homey. I believe the place could do some interior upgrades. Some good trim on the walls covering holes, a new paint schemes of something to match that green base. Ceiling tiles? Open it up… Carolina Cafe, it was solid. Would def recommend for anyone in Columbia wanting a local spot that likes bagels and coffee
Whether it's Sausage, Egg, and Pepper-Jack on Jalapeno; Ham, Egg, and Cheddar on Croissant; or Cinnamon and Sugar on Plain -- it's always great. Along with the best tea in town, and a great staff, it's the perfect way to start your day. And there's Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese on Plain when it's in season!.Food: 5/5
Chicken, goat cheese, cranberry salad - added black olives removed nuts, side of pasta salad and the homemade Cilantro Lime Dressing is SO gooood! Their Ranch is good, also.
Really good food. The office I work at is pretty close to Carolina Cafe and they offer free delivery for places close by. My coworkers and I order from here at least once a week. When we order, we are usually told it'll take 45 minutes, but it usually only takes 20 minutes max which is really great! Overall great experience
Ordered a group order. Although I had to come back two times, the food was good and they fixed the order.Food: 5/5
My go to place to get a quick breakfast that has fresh bagels. You will not find a better bagel in town.
The service was pretty descent. My biggest issue was the cream cheese. The bagel was fresh, but the cream cheese ruined it. I chose the honey walnut flavor. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the cream cheese had no sweetness at all, no trace of honey. The walnuts inside were way too big. They needed to be chopped into smaller pieces.
Not sure what it is with this place. The food here is great, the atmosphere is great, but the service here is completely hit or miss. The staff are either some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet or some of the absolute rudest. This morning was my breaking point and I hope management looks at whatever training and whatnot they do differently.
UPDATE: WAS TWO STARS, NOW ONE. JUST FOUND A GIANT HAIR IN MY CREAM CHEESE!!! These people cannot listen or read. Doesn't matter if I order in person or online, there's a 50/50 chance my order is going to be wrong. Ordering vegetarian? Oh look, there's bacon. Light cream cheese? Oh look, they fit a whole tub of it into my bagel somehow. Food and prices are fine, but I might as well be placing my orders with hand gestures.
