Carvel Ice Cream Supermarket

I ordered online a customized cake with a long movie quote I wanted written on the top. Because it was a unique request I called the store before placing my order to make sure I picked an appropriately sized cake and there would be no issue accommodating the text- I was assured there would be no problem. On the day it was scheduled to be delivered at 3:30pm I missed a call from the shop at 3:09 and returned it at 3:14. They were calling to make sure the text was accurate because it was so long, I said yes it was, and they replied with "good, because it's already out for delivery anyways." The type was terrible half cursive, half not, very uneven and lumpy, illegible in some places, the line spacing was not even, they misspelled the words 'money' and 'frightened,' random letters are capitalized throughout, the last word is falling off the edge of the cake, and I did not request any flowers on it. There is no way around it, the cake looks terrible. This is not worth the nearly $50 I paid to have it professionally done. I emailed customer service about the issues and they relayed back to me their understanding of the events that put me at fault for being unreachable.

The workers are rude and if you are not paying attention you will be overcharged and receipts are not provided. At least, mines was not. My order was prepared sloppy and the toppings were thrown on the top of the ice cream spilling out on the side. Ice cream is left out in a glass front counter the that does not look clean.

Delicious especially with crushed topping on bottom cookies n cream ice cream and banana sliced on top. If you don't believe try b it for yourself. Enjoy because I do.

One of the best carvels around. They have high quality ice cream cakes and their turn around time for birthday cakes is very fast.

The store was very open, clean, and they were generous with the toppings. The only down side was that the parking is extremely limited.

Outstanding ice cream, I've been visiting here about 15 years. It is family owned!! They are very hard working and I'm always greeted warmly. Nice assortment of cakes and variety of ice creams. I read a comment about the appearance...I go specifically for their ice cream, not concerned about anything else. This is a wonderful business and I'll continue to patronize for as long as I can

I bought a $29 ice cream cake for a birthday party at the NUTLEY CARVEL ON FRANKLIN AVE! When I cut into the cake there was barely any chocolate crunchies between the two layers of ice cream. I went back two days later with my receipt and pictures of the cake showing them that there were hardly any crunchies in the cake and what they wanted to give me for compensation was a cup of extra crunchies. I asked for a discount off the purchase of my next ice cream cake and they said no. They said there were some crunchies in the cake so they cannot compensate me for anything. The Oriental husband and wife are the two cheapest owners of a business that I’ve ever met! Rather than compensate me in someway to correct they’re wrong, they were willing to lose a customer! I will take my business elsewhere to the Lyndhurst Carvel where they are more compassionate to the customer. Beware the NUTLEY CARVEL OWNERS are money hungry thieves!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I stopped by here to get icecream for my family and was attacked because of the way I dress and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It was very sad that not one person stuck up for me or said anything to the injustice that was happening. I don't care about anyone's personal choice, I would never let someone hurt someone else in front of me. I could not just stand there and do nothing.

Went there to buy a birthday ice cream cake. Found a good size, and they wrote Happy birthday on it. The people were nice and helpful. Can only take out , no eating in yet.
