Three days after knee replacement I am well on my way to complete recovery. 24 hours after surgery I only needed Tylenol for pain. This surgeon is so wonderful. Caring and attentive.

Talked me into having both knees done at the same time. 14 months later and I am crippled. His follow up care was non-existent.

Doctor Nakasone and his team at Straub Medical Center were fantastic! I went to have a hip replacement and I was told that Doctor Nakasone was the best. He is very well known, knowledgeable and kind. His staff went over and above to make sure I was being taken care of properly. They were so pleasant to talk with and it was easy to see that there was communication between the members of the team. There was no “air” of smugness at all, like you might sometimes encounter with doctors, P.A.’s, N.P’s. Everyone was very professional and totally down to earth. We live on a neighboring island so it was somewhat inconvenient to have to fly over for appointments. We once had an early appointment that couldn’t be changed so to be sure to get there in time we flew over the day before and spent the night at a hotel. For the surgery we spent 3 nights at a hotel. Although this was inconvenient and expensive, I would still see Doctor Nakasone for future hip issues.

Dr. Nakasone was friendly and helpful in answering questions prior to my total knee replacement surgery. His technique was clearly exemplary because my scar was slight and recovery very quick. His staff is efficient and thorough and follow up a breeze.

Dr. Nakasone was the only orthopedic surgeon that would help me with my knee. I live on the Big Island and I was in the emergency room. Had to be ambu flown and ambulance to Straub. He did an awesome job and I have had no problems since. Best orthopedic Dr. in Hawaii. He is always smiling and pleasant bedside manner. Thank you again

I had both hips replaced at the same time by him in 2014 and he didn't want to hear about one of the hips never getting out of pain, swelling, or getting strength back. He would just have his PA see me when I went back and show me a good looking xray. That was the hip that was the best one before the op. I had to go to a new surgeon in another area that diagnosed the iliopsoas as being inflamed going over the edge of the implant that is protruding. I am offered a new surgery for this. Still in pain where i wasn't before and I don't want drugs!

I absolutely love Dr. Nakasone and his team at Strabs, they are courteous, friendly, promte, and professional. I had two hip surgerysfrom him, both times my recovery was speedy with full recovery; I can certainly stand-by this Surgeon... Thank you so much Cass. Michele

The Dr replaced my knee in 2008 and it's still like new..just had my hip replacement end of February 2018 .. I was shopping at Costco within the week...back to work 2 week's...

Had a great experience with Dr Nakasone.
