Cassidy Lake Special Alternative Incarceration Facility

This place has saved a lot of people lives. I happen to be one of them. I dont know how my life would have ended up on the path i was going but i do know with out SAI i wouldnt be were i am today.

I turned 18 years old here got smoked for my birthday by crpl sampeer. Almost didn’t make it because of shin splits so bad I had 11 days on medical bunk after going to Jackson medical and getting x-rays then returned to the camp. This place changed my life forever. I’m sure everyone who has been here can talk about it for hrs. I graduated back in 2001 after a long cold snoopie covered winter. To all those who had a log, shared a log or spent days on motivation “Hit the deck nut!!!” “Push!!!”

I was there back in 2000. It was definitely a life changing experience. The "tear you down, and build you back up" is effective in my opinion. Shout out to Cpl Taez, and Cpl Shimmons!!!!

SAI helped me to turn my life around and avoid going back to prison for the little bit of time I was there I can honestly say Corporal Lane and Fullbright are the best and I have not been back to MDOC since getting released in March of 2013 thank you!!

I was there in 97. Can't say I loved it . but it was a life changer. Thank you to all the staff that got my head out of my ass. Taez,baublitz, whalling, shimmons, purdy . to name a few.
