The staff and doctor are great. My main issue is how expensive visits and MRIs are at this location. Unless you have zero deductible health insurance, I would highly recommend double check beforehand how much you are responsible for. My shoulder MRI bill was $6,600. My insurance paid $5,000 for it.
The women in the front are so professional and kind. They found an appointment for me right away. Azra and Kenya are amazing. They will help you with anything. NYU is lucky to have both of them running the appointments for the orthopedic center. Very satisfied will be returning again.
NYU therapist are caring informative and professional. Focus is on getting you to reach your best performance.
on Oct 18 my daughter went to Langone with severe back pain. She couldn't walk stand sit or lie down. After an MRI they put her on a"pain. management" protocol and released her after five days in the hospital with no real decrease in her suffering. The neurologist they referred her to said there was no mechanical reason she should be in such pain. Cut to two months later, two. months of extreme agony before she was finally referred top a neuro surgeon and last week she was operated on for, in the surgeons own words, "a huge herniated disk' larger than he had ever seen. He also was at a loss to explain why this referral hadn't been made immediately. He was looking at the same MRI the first team looked at. Let me say something about your so called "pain management" protocols. If the pain isn't going away after a week in the hospital under this protocol then it's probably not going to go away by itself. I am giving a five star review only for the fast action the surgical team took to get her in during the holidays, with the surgeon breaking his vacation to attend her. She walked out of the hospital same day of surgery and is now finally recovering and nearly pain free today. Thank you. The rest of the team gets a D- . And thanks, by the way, for propagating the stereotype that women who are in extreme pain are simply being "Hysterical" I say this understanding that most of the people on the front end of who my daughter dealt with, from the ER to the nursing staff on her floor were Women. The message here for patients is be your own best advocate. The message for the Hospital is to please re examine your "pain management" protocols so other people don't have to go through what she did. Two and a half months of agony for something that should have taken no longer than two weeks at the outside.
I saw Dr Malik for chronic joint pain. Although she was seemingly pleasant, I never felt like she was really listening to my issues and concerns. Maybe my condition wasn’t glamorous enough to warrant her complete attention. She was clearly not interested in helping me going forward so I will not be going back. That said, the office was very nice and clean."
The lady by the front desk was nasty, very rude, always when I came here she give me actitud, is the 3rd time then is happens
They cancelled my Physical Therapy appointment before rescheduling alternative ones. Very frustrating because I am already behind on my treatment. They left me a voicemail without leaving me an extension number which resulted in not being able to get in touch with the person that needs to schedule my appointment.
I'm deeply sorry for those of you who had a bad experience at NYU. I was referred by a coworker, and I'm glad I went , 4 1/2 years later I'm still attending, under the care of Dr. Amid Saxena and Dr. Charles Kim are the best, I am very pleased I'm under their care, I have severe chronic pains due to rheumatoid arthritis, without going into details because I'll end up writing a book, I'll just tell you that my Doctors are wonderful people they care and take the time to listen, and are concerned about my well being. I'll soon go for physical therapy and I'm pretty sure I'll feel as comfortable as I am now. About the nurses and staff on the 4th and 6 floors very polite and also caring and helpful. Thanks to my coworker Robin I am in good hands. I truly love this Hospital and hope that you would give it a chance. Thanks to all at NYU God bless stay safe. Millie B.
I come to this particular NYU Ortho for imaging and two different Ortho doc for different areas of my body. This place has always been clean, sanitized, and safe well b4 covid happened. Like most NYU clinics, staff is very professional, they take your temp at door before you go up. So far, I've had no more than 15-20 min wait for each appointment that I had. Doctors are considerate of your needs if you do have to come into the office. Other than the mask, hand sanitizer, and sometimes lines for temp check NYU is practically running the same way as it did just with extra precaution for their staff and patient's well being.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but it seems like every single medical center or office has terrible staff. This place is no different. They claim that they return calls within 1 business day, but it's been 3 business days and still no return call. I scheduled an appointment after a referral from an NYU GP two and a half weeks in advance. TWO DAYS before the appointment, I get an email thanking me for scheduling two x-rays that I did not schedule and had no idea what they were for. I called the office for an explanation and all I got in response was that the receptionist had no idea what was going on and that she refused to tell me who the nurse was who scheduled appointments for me without telling me. That is not legal, and completely unprofessional. She rudely told me that the nurse would call me, and then hung up on me. The nurse never called me. It's been 5 days. I tried to call to figure out what was going on, and I just keep getting the run around. I haven't even had any interaction with the medical professionals and I am already left with a terrible impression of this center. Please consider training your staff, or even making any attempt to screen them for competency before hiring them.
