I honestly wish I went to any other optical place. I spent tons of money getting contacts and when I asked for a contacts lense kit - the lady rudely says they're all out. I spent $420 and can't get a $2 lense kit for free? Another co-worker heard me ask the lady for the kit and pitched up to say we do have them and politely gave it to me. I left the place feeling robbed and disrespected especially after googling that I can get the same contacts for $60 at my local BJ's with a prescription. Don't bother going here and save your money. If you can, get your prescription and get out - don't buy anything else there.
Betsy and the staff were very courteous and professional. They showed and explained different options for me that made my decision a lot easier. I highly recommend Central optical on Flatlands if you're looking for quality frames and outstanding service. THANKS GIRLS see you for my next pair for sure
This is my favorite optical store. I’ve been seeing the doctors here for 5 years. Always great service and friendly staff. If you don’t have insurance information they look it up. They’re very helpful. And my glasses and contacts are ready before the week is up. I call that excellent service. Thanks for always being helpful.
If you have a legitimate eye problem I do not recommend going here at all I went here about 4 years ago but writing my review now because of the long lasting eye infection that I went to them to see what was wrong with my eyes. I was then told by a lady doctor that I had fluid behind my eyes and that I needed glasses and that my sudden vision impairment was due to me needing glasses. Now three years later my vision was getting worse and worse rapidly which led me to believe its not just any gradual vision loss due to age or allergies, so I decided to go to a actual surgeon to see what was the real issue with my eyes they tested my eyes turns out my vision is 20/15 and no fluid behind my eyes! not the same impairment that central optical claimed that I had in fact I didn't even need glasses. the issue was an eye infection that went untreated and was scratching my eyes which had caused the impairment. I do not suggest anyone go to these people due to them misdiagnosing my issue and pushing glasses on me when I had perfectly good vision I had to endure serious serious pain and suffering for a number of years thinking its just allergies and my surroundings plus some sort of fluid build up that was never there. luckily ill be ok within a few months but do not trust these people with your eyes get a second opinion by doctors that check your eyes on more than two machines! So if your reading this get a second opinion if you've visited this place, and if you hadn't visited you've been warned not to come here.
I had a great experience with Central Optical the entire staff was friendly and professional. The eye doctor took her time making sure she addressed all my questions and vision issues. I would like to make a special shout-out to Tennille because she was very helpful in finding the perfect eyewear to fit my style. Thank you all, M. Shannon
I purchased a pair of eye glasses for my grandmother on September 3, 2020 as a gift. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away unexpectedly and I canceled the purchase the next day via telephone. However, Central Optical informed me that they can only provide me a store credit of $1, 200.00 which I did not agree to. I did not see the store policy posted nor was there a refund policy listed on the receipt I received. I filed a complaint with my credit card company to dispute the incur charges not fraud because I canceled within a reasonable time frame. Central Optical only contacted me once and I was on the train underground with bad service. Due to the loss of my grandmother and other personal matters going on I did not get to contact them back because I thought the matter was resolved. I then received a notification that my account was overdrafted $1,200.00 on November 6, 2020. I just lost my job due to COVID-19 and experiencing financial hardship. I did contact them about my concerns in regards to my refund and I became frustrated as they informed me I can sell the store credit to another person who may want it, which I do not think is acceptable. Our communication was unsuccessful as they threatened to contact local enforcement on me due to my frustration. All I want is my full refund from Central Optical and cease all business/communication with them. It’s hard to lose $1200 in a time Like this. I won’t remove my post until they give me a refund or contact me. This is unfair treatment to a black African American man. They are bullies. Would never recommend this place. I won’t remove my post until I get my refund. I’ll surely keep fighting until I get my money. Black lives don’t matter. I’m sure if it was a Caucasian person they would be refunded.
I was amazed at the excellent customer service provided from the moment I walked in until I left. I was there for about 1 hour choosing glasses and was assisted every minute by a professional, knowledge & friendly staff. Awesome experience. I just wish I had asked their names to list here. I recommended them to all my family & friends as soon as I left the store.
Staff is always pleasant, clean office---- a welcoming atmosphere, short wait-time, sometimes none. Dr. Ginberg explains treatment plan in a really caring manner and answers all my questions. I've been a patient for over 12 years and happy with the service.
Had to many bad experiences with my glasses just this March 2019. They kept giving me promises when my frames would be ready after I paid over $500.00 just for my glasses, they messed up on my perscription. I told a heavy set lady that I couldn't read with my bifocals, she saids that I'll get use to it. Which I did not, I returned within 7 days and stated Im sorry however the lenses are not working for me, still cannot read with them. They had me waiting over 1 hour and 30 minutes to see Dr. Katerina Ginberg. I really was afraid to be in the room with this lady because she has the worst halitosis Bad breath, not even a tic-tac could save her. Well I'm not going to tell her, it's embarrassing. Anyway I went back in the room, had to hold my breath as long as I could because her breath was worst from last time I was there. Left my glasses, waited over 2 weeks even though they said 1 week, calling to get a hold on these people is horrible unable to get through via phone or leave a voicemail because it's full of messages. Anyway I called on a Wednesday and finally a pick up, was told it was ready and I went to pick them up, but I had to see the doctor again and I thought to myself, HELL NO, just want my glasses, anyway I went there and they could not find them. Called the next day in advance just to tell them know I'm coming over to pick up my glasses, they finally picked up the phone, the guy that cuts and prepares the glasses was with an attitude with me saying he wants me to come while the doctor is there, I'm thinking, wow. There's more area for more mistakes. Let's rap this story up, the glasses still not perfect, after I got home notice a scratch on the right lense by the stem. Not a happy camper. Horrible service, would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Just picked up my glasses today, which is April. 13, 2019 after my 3rd visit leaving my frames the 2nd time. Ladies and Gentlemen don't go there. They totally suck! P.s. Still cannot read with my bifocals, just use it for distance
The staff were very polite. The optometrist was very caring and she answered all my optical questions, which come from my Autoimmune Disease called Sarcoidosis, which is my Rheumatologist diagnosed me with. I am subtable to getting an eye condition called Uveitis. The office was clean and pleasant, the staff was very polite and the Optometrist was very knowledgeable and patient, and patiently answered all my concerns and questions.
