Wow! My mammography took all of 20 mins. That includes me taking my top and bra off and fiddling with the confusing ties on the robe. But that could be because my appointment was really late 7pm and the joint was completely empty. The waiting room is quite large, large enough for two televisions, so I imagine that the place gets very busy during the day. If you can go late, it's worth it. I didn't realize that my last mammogram was back in 2013. Yikes. Once you start approaching 50 it's crucial to get a series of baseline mammos, especially if you have dense breasts or a history of breast cancer in your family. I was going to say "Go get your boobies smashed!" but this was more like a gentle mushing this time.
Really quite bad. For two exams I had to wait 6 hours and I was told it would take 2 hours. I’ve gone to many other radiology facilities over the years and have never been subject to such a confusing system. After I was finished with my MRI they recommended I go to see my doctor which I didn’t have an appointment for and they were puzzled why I wasn’t told this earlier. I’ve never had to do that at previous facilities. I always received a call about my results to discuss next steps. No one seems to know the natural order of billing, patient flow, etc. What was meant to be a morning excursion turned into an entire day and I missed meetings at work. It’s really inconsiderate. I didn’t have the personal day to cover this and lost money because of it. Horrendous.
Today my experience was horrible. I think the technician doing renal ultrasounds on the third floor need to have some sensitivity training. If she is not happy in her job, she need to find another job. She pressed too hard in my chest, and side with the tool. She was very nasty when the procedure was over. She told me to wipe myself with the sheet you use to cover yourself rather than provide me with some wipes and just sat down and played with her phone. Very professional. I would like to say the older woman at the front desk was very helpful in resolving the problem with my initial referral. This will be my last visit to this office.
AVOID THESE CON ARTISTS! They submitted the wrong code to my insurance company, so instead of having my annual mammogram covered, I got hit with a $480 diagnostic mammogram bill. My insurance company called them multiple times. I called them multiple times. We were told they would resubmit with the correct code and I would stop receiving bills. This process would take 45 days. I stop receiving bills until about 9 months later—just received a bill from a collections agency. Now I'm in the middle of trying to sort out something that was THEIR MISTAKE. I do not owe this $, and my insurance company has tried to advocate for me. BEWARE!
I have been getting Routine Mammograms for about 10 years here and never had a problem. It's important to stick with the same tester since they compare each test to the previous one for continuity. Very clean and all techs are pleasant. Never had a problem. They get you in quickly and out as fast as they can. Yes, the test is unpleasant and somewhat painful, but that cannot be prevented.
I made an appointment and confirmed it. When I arrived 15 minutes early I was rudely informed they had me down for a different time and it was my fault I was late! No apologies, No acknowledgment that it was their mistake or attempts to fix it. There offices were over crowded and judging by the previous reviews this is standard practice. I intend to find a better place to have my MRI done, medical tests are stressful enough with out having to be treated badly.
DO NOT GO HERE. I went in for an MRI of my cervical spine and they gave me an MRI of the wrong part of my body. I had to be rushed back to do the correct MRI, which now, they’re actually trying to charge me for. The woman from their billing department that called was such a rude and unhappy lady. I have called them three times even WITH my insurance company on the line trying to fix this, and they won’t accept their mistake. If I could go back, I would have gone literally anywhere else possible. Have a good day!!!!!!!
Absolutely horrendous experience there this morning. I had an 8 am appointment...and arrived 15 minutes early to find the security gate down...no one behind the desk. The woman finally arrives at 8:15...no apologies...and she's coughing all over the desk...no doubt on the drivers' license and insurance card I had to give her, although I've been there four times already. There's about 8 patients now in the waiting room...time goes by...It's now 8:40..and I ask when I'll be seen. She tells me...I have to process all of these people before patients can be seen. Are you serious? I'm finally in with the tech at 8:50...totally cold...ignores me when I say "you guys are a little backed up today?" No apologies...completely rude. Horrendous customer service.
I have been going to West Side Radiology for 10 years+. In the last 3-4 years their service has declined. Wait times for the last 3 years have been 3 hrs 3 tests, 3 hrs 3 tests and 1.5 hrs 1 test. This time I asked to speak to the office manager. She was busy and could not speak to me. The office is poorly run and has been for a while. I will switch to another radiology provider for my next tests. I don't think management really cares and that is the problem.
Staff is pleasant, even divine. Wait is under 1/2 hr [both times]. If you get stuck & arrive late, they accommodate you~~not scold you. You get free copy of scan disk [also written report a day or 2 later]--delightful for patients when scan is not pre-op but an annual check. Office mgr is especially productive. Lotsa room in sterile waiting area, nicely furnished w/comfy & clean chairs. Facility is in basement~~no windows so that won't work for claustrophobics. 57th & B'way can be reached by all trains & buses [or bikes] so it's not a scary neighborhood; Columbus Circle has shopping, Shopping, SHOPPING. Visits weren't spooky.
