Have to be honest. I don’t have much experience with this company past an experience with one person in particular that made me feel uncomfortable with proceeding. We were trying to sell our house in Va Beach to prepare for an out of state move and were in the process of entertaining real estate company offers for assistance. After speaking with Natalie who said she worked at this office, we’re completely dissuaded from further communications with this office. She was very curt and inappropriate and said some things that made my wife quite upset. Not a very professional person. I didn’t leave 1 star because it wouldn’t be fair to judge the company entirely off of one employee but I couldn’t leave higher than 2 because of how she made us feel.
Paying through payslip? Are you kidding me? No longer allowed to pay with a cashiers check probably the safest way to pay, but now have to pay through some random process I've never heard of and get charged a $3.99 processing fee every time...not happy
Highly recommend to never rent from this company. Please choose any other company if you see this name on the lease. They will not warn you that they will be sneaky on final inspections. Example, we mowed the grass the day we moved out. We do not know when they came to inspect, but grass grows, so if they came 2 weeks later, they will tell you that you owe them money, and take it out of your deposit. Another item, there were never screens in several of the windows when we moved in. We never addressed it, as we assumed it was a normal thing. Upon move out, we were charged for all the screens missing, even though we told them that they were never there when we moved in. Again, another way to "steal" our money. We paid for a cleaning company to clean the house when we left. They said it was still not cleaned, even though it was, and again, took our money. We moved out a week before the lease was up, so they could have easily given us the opportunity to go back and adjust anything they felt was not up to standard, but instead, they chose to wait, and charge us. We lost over half of our deposit to them. This company is highly unprofessional, will not return your calls or messages, NEVER NEVER use them. To note, we had to do a lot of our own repairs due to lack of response from this team, or lack of nobody wanting to make any repairs. Again, DO NOT USE CENTURY 21! You will regret it!
If you plan on renting a property from anyone in this office, please find another property unless you want to be robbed of your hard earned money. My family rented a property out in Suffolk a few years back and we just recently moved out. During our stay at this property, we received poor service from the so called property manager Megan Smith and her assistant Marjorie Lamb. Getting either of them on the phone or to reply back to an email was a task within itself. The very first weekend we moved into the property in the middle of June, the HVAC unit went out and my two year old son at the time with asthma could not stay in the house. According to the property manager this was not an emergency! I won’t go into all the details during our stay but there are so many more poor experiences. Fast forward to when we moved out and the walk through was never scheduled but we received a text five minutes before Megan was going to do the walk through. I was on my way to work and my wife was already at work. It was our word against hers so who do you think had the upper hand with the discrepancies in the walk through? We repaired screens that were damaged during our stay but we were still charged for those among other things that were not damaged when we moved out. We have been trying to communicate with Craig Wool since we’ve moved out almost four months ago and all he can tell me is that he’s waiting to hear from the property owner. This office does in fact lack professionalism and they do not care anything about the tenants in the properties. They will make sure they keep someone in them by any means necessary. Even if it means lying and cheating the previous and current tenants.
If I could give NEGATIVE 10 stars, I would. Wendy has been managing our property for over 10 years and I've been extremely dissatisfied with her and Century 21 Nachman. I wanted to find another property management company, but was told as long as that tenant is there, I would not be able to cancel my contract. I have a great tenant who pays on time and hardly ever complains about anything. Well...except the property management since they do not return her calls when she needs them. Today, I received an e-mail from Wendy's assistance telling me that I need to pay my insurance because they did not have the funds.?? Seriously, you've been managing my property for over 10 years and did not hold funds to pay for my insurance?!!!! To boot, she didn't even attach the invoice. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR RENTAL PROPERTY!!!!!
Becky helped us find a home in 2008 and then helped us sell it in 2017. When we purchased in 2008 we found the home in one day with our at the time 4 year old in tow. Becky made a point of including her in all the homes we visited and engaged her for her opinion. When we sold in October 2017 - the house was listed for 16 days and we received an offer for full asking price! She is patient, expedient, attentive to details and her experience and knowledge were invaluable! She makes the process a breeze and I could not ask for a better agent. In addition, the supporting staff at Century 21 Nachman were helpful and friendly. If I ever move back to the area they will be my first call!! I highly recommend using this office for any of your real estate needs!
Extremely unprofessional!!!! I talked to the owners of a particular property and they insisted that I put in an application because they felt I would be a good tenant to lease their property. The very next day after I paid my application fees they posted the same property online and got other applicants to pay for an application for the same property as me Century 21! I was in DIRECT contact with Marjorie and when she went on vacation, Megan Smith had another tenant sign the lease for my property. I literally have 7 days to move and she didn’t even have the decency to let me know, i found out by calling myself. And when I asked why she didn’t tell me, her response was very nonchalant. They just want to take your money! I have never dealt with a realty company like this!!!
A few months ago I would have rated this office zero stars and actually probably not even taken the time to rate them at all. Russ, the new property manager of the home I rent is fantastic. He is professional, available, and most importantly he follows through on what he says he will do. Communication with him and his assistant Claire is timely and for the first time in 5 years I feel as though there is someone knowledgeable and organized who really cares about the level of Customer experience they provide. If you are looking to rent a property as an owner or renter and you ask for Russ, you will feel more than confident and satisfied.
