I ordered chana masala with normal rice. Instead of rice they gave biryani and said rice was finished. The biryani rice had meat bones in it. Naan bread was very hard to eat. Seems old. Chapali kabob was completely burnt. My dinner was completely ruined. I called them next day to find the issue as I used to order from them but they never replied back. Food seems not fresh and its highly unprofessional... will never buy from here anymore.
Remarkable lack of consistency. Two years ago we started ordering from here. It was great at first, then it seemed that the recipes differed sometimes. Tonight, we ordered our usual and when it arrived the sauce was totally different just hot water with some cream and no rice at all. I’m sad because this used to be really great. I hope they will find some way to ensure the cooks follow the same recipe every time.
We held a birthday party here. The banquet hall itself was really big. The food was really good. Felt exactly like a pakistani "wedding food". All of us and our guests loved our time here. The staff is really coperative and attentive. They served the food a little late though.
If I could give a negative 3 stars I would. I was planning my event here and they told me that I can use my own caterer. My caterer called to verify the certifications that needed to be provided. They gave my caterer attitude and told her that no outside food is allowed. Why tell me one thing and tell my caterer something else?? I have canceled my contract due to the false advertising plus I have raised my guest count over their holding capacity. Ever since then, they have giving me so much issues just to give me my deposit back. I have children to take care of that’s $500 I could have spent on food to feed my children. I just want my money. Why give a check knowing it’s no funds in the account for me to cash the check??
Consistency is really lacking at this place. The food used to be good here. Then, as time went on, the recipes became unreliable. Every time we order, we get something totally different. They always forget the rice with the order even though we pay extra to have naan and rice. Today we ordered and the butter chicken and tika masala was so watery—like soup. We have been loyal customers for two years there. The people recognize us when we go in, but unfortunately we won’t be ordering anymore. The food just isn’t good anymore and it’s too expensive for what you get. If it would go back to how it was six months ago, I would love to order again.
I agree with everyone else here who are complaining about service but I would also like to add that their food is horrendous. I haven't dined in on a weekend so i don't know if it's fresh on weekends. I ordered biryani chicken boti roll and tawa keema. Only the tawa keema was fresh you can argue about the taste. Biryani was stale and the chicken boti roll was wrapped in naan, eventhough we asked before ordering and they said it would be in a paratha. The worst part was when we finished there was no one to take the food or bring us bill. We went to counter and there was this uncleprobably friend of owner who asked us to total the bill ourselves and when done their card machine wouldn't work so we had to drive to the atm to get cash and pay them! Huge inconvenience.
I have a lot to say but I'd like to acknowledge that the food was good. The banquet hall was clean and they let us use some of their center pieces for our table decor. They let us decorate the hall the previous night, which was great. Overall, we had a terrible experience with the management and here are some things that went horribly wrong. We were told different things by different people. When we booked the event, we settled on a menu for approx 50 people and were told that the hall is included in this per head rate. When we went to decorate the place the previous night, we were told that we could use the sound system and TV's for no extra charge. When we gathered for our event, we were told that we had to pay $100 extra for using the sound system. The owner suddenly told us that we also had to pay $300 extra for the hall. We were told that we could bring our own cake, but the owner said he wants to charge us $1.25 per plate to serve the cake. So we cut the cake ourselves took us less than a minute. The owner Mr. Ahmed was terribly rude and unprofessional. It almost looked like he was trying to ruin our event. We told the management a week before the event that we are only having 40 guests. They said we still have to pay for 50 guests no matter how many show up. That doesn't make sense but we settled for paying for 45 guests and paying extra if more showed up. We only had 39 guests, but we paid for 45 as decided. When we asked if we could take the left-overs since we've paid for it, they said no. The owner was very condescending and impolite. To top this all, our food was served very late. We asked for lunch to be served at 1 pm. But our food was served at 1:45 pm. This is very unprofessional for any restaurant. Also, our menu was changed and we were served Biryani instead of goat curry and tadka rice. The owner said it was the same thing, but it's clearly a mistake and he never apologized for it. They did not even have labels for the dishes. We had a lot of american guests who did not know these Indian dishes and it is basic courtesy to have labels for the food. The owner said he would charge $45 extra for the labels. Ridiculous! If you do decide to have your event here, please take down EVERYTHING in writing. The management of this place is in shambles and the owner has no decency. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
So we went to Chandni Chowk Restaurant to carry out food that we ordered over the phone. Ordering carryout was as same as it would be any where. The person took the order and said it will be ready in 15min. We reached there after half hour of the order. And the order was ready after a total of 55min. It was our first time ordering from this restaurant as we didn't even know that it existed. The food was warm when we picked it up. We has ordered a couple chicken rolls and some chicken kebab, chicken biryani and lamb chops and chicken and vegetable samosas. The food tasted good and wasn't very spicy. The kebabs were good too, not great but just good. We liked the chicken biryani especially as it was different than any other biryani we tasted at different restaurants. The food tastes like what you would find on a food truck in Washington DC. One issue we had was there was excessive food color on the kabob and lamb chops which we didn't like. I will surely try the food again with some different items on the menu only because it tastes different that other Indian/ South Asian restaurants. I will update my review as I try more.
I was here for a birthday party and my overall experience with the staff members was horrible. The three men were rude in their manner and did not treat guests with a courteous attitude. They were unorganized with their planning and they were super late with serving food. However, the food was the best part about their service.
Inviting the aroma & taste of exotic spices in delicious food w/o even leaving the house is a special treat, indeed! Like anticipated, we savored our tasty dishes with pleasure & were amazed by an "ahead-of-time" arrival. No "ghastly winter" blues w. this delightful menu ... thx :-
