Some of the most memorable ice cream I've had recently. The root beer float was perfect and the vanilla ice cream was a treat to my taste buds. Mac and cheese wedges were perfect how we like them. The burger could have been a bit less cooked. I had ordered medium rare but it was close to well done. Yet the taste was still good and fresh. The bun is a nice sturdy vessel that didn't get overly soggy.
The staff were friendly and the kids menu was great. Even had the option to get a clown sundae for the kids for about $2. I had the bison burger, it was okay. Just a standard burger. Had to deduct a star for that as well as the waiter giving us broken used crayons for kids until they found one.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No

My lunch experience was amazing. The pulled pork was fabulous. I went back for an evening meal a few weeks later and the pork tasted like it had been reheated in a pile of old grease, terrible. The service is great. Atmosphere is family friendly diner style - love it. Milkshakes are always a win. Fries..perfect.Food: 4/5
First time trying from this restaurant and the food was nice. Fish, chips and cheese steak were yummy. Overall a bit more seasoning would have been nice. The fish was perfectly fried, crisp on outside and tender on inside Loved it’s texture. The cheese stake was juicy and flavorful. It was worth the price.
It's been about 12 years since I've been here and today was my return trip. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. To start, the restaurant is dirty from the tables, to the floor to the kitchen. To say it needs to be cleaned and remodeled is an understatement. Second, it was 77 degrees today. It was 78 degrees inside. Turn on the A/C. Staff was ok at best, but my drink sat empty after I finished for the majority of our lunch. We were right next to the soda machine too. Fail. The saving grace is the food. It's good, but not spectacular. Would be so much better if this place was updated. I get the history, but time to modernize and clean. Parking: Lots of spaces. No issue. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance.
The Kennett Square burger with mushrooms, Swiss and bacon was excellent. I love that you can get it done to your liking, for example: medium rare or well done. Also vanilla shake was super tasty. Service was great!
We're not from the area so this was only our 2nd time here. First time just for ice cream but this time took our 3 granddaughters for dinner and, of course, ice cream. The dedicated staff provided really good burgers, sandwiches and kids meals. One might say place is "retro" but I'd say it's just old but decently maintained. Atmosphere on a Saturday night was noisy and crowded, but in a fun way. Service was outstanding, our server even knew to put 2 cherries on our shared sundae so we wouldn't fight over it. We look forward to many return visits!
The food is great! The service is wonderful! It's nice to see the families dining together. We have stopped here before and always find it to be so! Looking forward to our next visit!Food: 5/5
Back in the early 60's my parents began stopping at the Charcoal Pit on the way to Rehoboth Beach. Now I take my family there for burgers and shakes. And they still have the jute boxes at each booth! Great memories. Worth the trip!Food: 5/5
