Chelsea Mews Guest House

Loved this place. I felt like I was staying in a haunted mansion from Scooby Doo. If you're looking for luxe accomodations Chelsea Mews is not it. But at this price, at this location, with this sort of vibe? I loved it. I'm already planning to stay here again. Anyone leaving a bad review for this place and Gary really doesnt know how to enjoy life.

I don’t care what all you dopes say about this place because it doesn’t matter! Garry is one of the nicest guys in town! He is kind, knowledgeable, goes above and beyond for his guests! My friend and I have had many wonderful experiences here at the inn, and Garry makes the stays that much more enjoyable! Plus that huge claw foot soaking tub is amazing! This place is unique, interesting, comfortable and ya get to walk around naked! I highly recommend staying here! Thanks again for another great time Garry! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I visited this guesthouse for the first time 8 years ago and I keep going back because I have so many great memories. It just keeps getting better all the time. It is in a perfect location to use as a jumping board to go anywhere you want in New York. High Line is a short walk away. The room was very quiet, old-style and comfortable. One of the best gay guesthouses I have stayed at. I love it, and the owners are friendly and wonderful.

My first time there, Although i was the only guest that night, I have to say Gary made my stay very comfortable. He was a great guy to speak to about his place and the long history and memories he and his partner enjoyed there along with great guest. Absolutely will be returning often. Thank you Gary for you great hospitality.

I had a wonderful 7 nights stay. The staff are friendly and the owner of the hotel is extremely kind and will go to extremes to help your stay comfortable.Nothing seemed to be a bother. I was made to feel more than welcome on my arrival and the warm approach continued throughout my time there. I hope to return again one day. Chelsea Mews is an incredible value and place to stay in NYC. The private house is in the best location and is close to everything including subway, restaurants and sites. The rooms are small yet I didn't spend much time there anyway... I was out and about... WiFi was excellent for keeping in touch. Other guests staying there my weekend were quite friendly and the owners, Charles & Gary, just couldn't be more friendly, entertaining or accommodating ... proudly showing off their house and vintage back yard.... they offered suggestions on places to eat and visit as I learned that they have lived in the house since the late 1970's and seem to know everything about Chelsea. A GREAT VALUE!

This is one of the worst places you can end up at. While the owner is nice, the place smells terrible really old. You walk up the stairs and you feel like you're in a hunted house. I found something for 1/3 of the price he offered me and a thousand times better than this place. Good luck with your visit.

There's better places to stay for the same price if not less. The jane for instance..... Wouldn't recommend even as a worst case scenario tbh.Rooms: 1/5
