I hosted a conference at the hotel. I was there with my conference participants for four days. First of all, the life in this place is invigorating. We arrived to live jazz and folks having wonderful food, drinks and fun. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful and very efficient at checking us in. Some of our participants were able to checkin early and one of our participants received a birthday room upgrade. Sheridan and her staff and Katy Lee and chef and their staff were just amazing. Attentive to our needs and every detail for the conference. And the food!!!!! Absolutely delicious.
The warmth of the staff at the Renaissance Hotel knows no bounds. They were all brilliant and exemplary, especially Ingrid at the front desk. Ingrid is so lovely and genuine, not to mention extremely helpful. To top it all off, the icing on the cake was the rapper Camron, who happened to be at the hotel for an interview. Renaissance is my new home in New York and no doubt that’s the only place I’ll stay on my future visits. Best wishes to all the staff at the Renaissance! Rooms: The rooms were clean and comfortable. The AC worked perfectly and the bathroom was immaculate. Safety: The area surrounding the hotel is extremely safe to walk around
This hotel was amazing and had an amazing view, the room was beautiful. Honestly what made my experience the best was the front desk clerk Tasha, I had a unique situation I called the day before and when I arrived it was handled and she remembered me personally by name and handled everything. I truly appreciate the care and time she took with me because I travel 24/7 for work and sometimes my hotel stay situation gets crazy. She was truly a blessing. Thanks Tasha
Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel. At almost $400/night, I expected better. While the lobby is beautiful, and the rooms are nice, the terrible customer service from multiple employees is really what ruined the stay for us. We had an issue and asked the front desk person for help, they were rude and dismissive, and when I asked to talk to a manager they simply told me that they weren't in and ignored me. I followed up and asked for an assistant manager and they waved in the direction of a gentleman and went back to ignoring me, when I approached the person indicated, he said he was not a manager and then walked away, with no offer of help or to help me find the right person. Going forward I will warn people away from this hotel, and won't be staying here again.
Great first impression. I’m a frequent traveler for work and have high confidence in Renaissance. I had a truly shocking high impression of this hotel. The cleanliness checked all boxes. The room size was very large unlike many NY hotels. The food truly impressed me the most, at the 5th floor restaurant; top notch! Only two critiques. 1 Many switches and lights did not work in my room. 2 The servers were very slow and not attentive, and that was with me being one of only a few eating. I waited both nights for about 10-15 mins for refills. I’ll be back for sure!
Our booking see picture was for a room with “ Central Park view” and not for “view in Central Park direction”. It’s quite simple. I feel bad to give only one star as the service otherwise especially the restaurant and bar was excellent. However, the fact is that we feel misled - let me explain: - We booked for a room with a central park view. We arrive and are told that the view faces towards central park but a building opposite was built 'recently' and blocks the view unless we are on the 21st floor and above. So the room we were given faces a building and does not have a central park view. We were eventually upgraded but spent 2 out of the 3 nights in a room which we did not book for. This is called 'misrepresentation' and we have laws against this in England, I would have thought in NY too. The building opposite was not built overnight, so there is no excuse for still false advertising the rooms and then not delivering on what was promised. And this must be the case for most guests as most floors are too low for a view. Very disappointed in this attitude which seems to be coming from the top level down. The pics show the room on the 21st floor with actual impressive central park views - sadly we only enjoyed this room for 1 out of 3 nights though we paid for 3 nights
I recently stayed at the new Renaissance Hotel in Harlem and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the stylish decor and welcoming atmosphere. One standout aspect of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Latasha. She was incredibly pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Whether it was answering my questions about the local area or making sure all my needs were met, her helpful and friendly demeanor truly made a difference. Overall, my experience at the Renaissance Hotel in Harlem was a solid 10 out of 10. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you, Latasha, and the entire team for making my stay so memorable! Rooms: Rooms are super sexy but my overhead lights didn't work. I was a little disappointed about that. It would have been great for content. Can't wait to come back Food and drinks: The Victoria Restaurant on the 5th floors has great drinks and food.

The lobby was busy and loud but thankfully couldn’t be heard from the room. I liked the hotel’s theme and the doorman downstairs was welcoming. I also loved the poems on the ceiling and mirrors in the room, but the honest truth is the room was very over-priced and small. The bathroom doesn’t even fit the sink so the sink was outside of it, and my biggest frustration was paying for a “Park view” and instead only seeing the high rise condos? across the street. Central Park definitely was not seen, despite that being the difference between the room I reserved and the cheaper alternative. When I genuinely asked if maybe I had the wrong room or if it was possible to move to a different room/floor, the lobby staff became not rude, but simply less polite and welcoming. Felt cheated price-wise and would not recommend or stay again.
Nightmare experiences. Scary location.Terrible customer service Front desk & Management Be careful when you around this area and the mattress is very uncomfortable. No refrigerator in the room, request for $25/day ??? I never been to any hotels doesn’t has refrigerator before and this is my first time. No, I would not recommend this hotel to you or anyone. There are many nicer hotels in NYC with nicer locations and better customer service for that price. Don’t waste your time and money.
