Cherokee Mountain Luxury Log Cabins

I wanted to love this place. The views are beautiful but that's where the good ends. We arrived a little after 3pm (check-in is @ 2pm) and our cabin was not ready for check-in. The caretaker Erin said the maid had quit that day so she was cleaning it and she could discount our stay for the inconvenience. She said it would take about 45 minutes and suggested we drive into town for lunch or something. However we had just finished a 5 hour drive and getting back in the truck was the last thing i wanted to do. So we instead walked around the woods around the cabin. It was almost 4:30 before it was ready and upon seeing that we were still outside said "well i THOUGHT you were going downtown" NOT my problem YOU were not ready for your guests. Check out time is 11am , you knew someone was checking in that day and you didn't bother to start cleaning until 3pm? The cabin had only been half-a$$ed cleaned. The sheets were dirty, there was trash & food underneath the chair & couch, the extra blankets had just been thrown into the closets without even being folded and the worst part was the scum that came out of the jets of the whirlpool. There were MASSIVE piles of dog crap all round the walkways of the cabin and there was not a single piece of dry wood for the fireplace in the cabin. Severely disappointed in the state of the cabin. Not to mention we did not receive a discount for the inconvenience or filth. The owners should reconsider letting their daughter run the place before the damage is too far done to make the cabins rentable.

We took a long weekend in the Eureka Springs area and stayed at Cherokee Mountain. The cabin was a great find! Clean and well appointed inside, with a "rustic" exterior that was far more romantic than the typical motel. The property is a delight, with walking paths and a spectacularly beautiful area. We also enjoyed the owners dogs! Highly recommend this property.
