DO NOT GO HERE unless you want literal torture methods preformed on your animals. I’m absolutely disgusted in the service I received today for my dog. I will NEVER go back there or recommend this animal hospital to anyone. My dog injured his dew claw nail and was already in extreme pain. At first, Mary wiggled the broken part of his nail around and my dog responded in a way I’ve never heard or seen. It was clear he was in an incredible amount of pain so instead of administering any medication to make it even somewhat bearable for him, he was muzzled. Before I was able to protest the way she was going about it, she grabbed his paw and proceeded to TWIST AND PULL the broken nail that was still attached to the quick with NO GLOVES. There was NO discussion about the options available to help limit the pain. I was 100% willing to pay for whatever was needed in order to make this as painless for him as I could. After ripping his nail off, she cleaned the open wound with unnecessary aggression. She is the most cold and indifferent person I have EVER met when it comes to the comfort of animals.
Have taken our cats there for 40+ years. Recent change of ownership, though husband/ wife DVMs continue to work toward retirement. Thanks, Mark & Missy Frautschy! You have been reliable in keeping kittens healthy, older 'ladies' in good shape, and so compassionate when each had to be put down. Even if we were referred to an emergency vet, all of your wonderful staff signed a condolence card. May your retirement be relaxing and all you hope it will be.
I recently made and appointment from a referral. I felt like we finally have a treatment plan for my cat, who has allergies. Vet and staff were very professional and knowledgeable. I was tired of getting the run around from my prior vet, and hundreds of dollars with no answer. They were booked out, but i asked to be called if there was a cancelation, and they did. The facility is a little dated, but the knowledge and friendly staff more than make up for that. I left with a potential treatment plan, and the vet asked me to call in three weeks to follow up! I have never felt more comfortable with an experience! I am switching all my pets to this place! I could not give a higher rating.
Friendly, courteous, professional. They found out why my dog was scratching his ear all the time! Great people, nice office.
First and last time there, I'm a 1st time dog owner, I felt so rushed, vet never even asked if I had any questions, the whole visit took 10m from walking in to paying the bill! Go to Alta View, their great!
When we had to put my dog down Dr. Ashley was very sweet and understanding of the situation.. I became a regular here with my other pups!
Do NOT go to Layton animal hospital. I had such a bad experience there. They DO NOT explain anything about treatment. They give the absolute worst treatment for your animal because they are ONLY in it for the money. They will charge you OUTRAGEOUS prices for stuff you DON’T need.
The person who answered phone was friendly & professional, felt bad they were booked solid but tried extremely hard to squeeze my very sick in for a walk in emergency appointment, but was unable to until the next day. My cat would have been a first time patient at this clinic. Unfortunately later in the day on the same day I called, my cat died in my arms. This same person was very sad to hear my sad news and gave her condolences to me on the phone.
We're so grateful to have found Layton Animal Hospital. We left our last vet when our little guy needed oral surgery and their price quote nearly shocked us into the next life. I posted a question on Facebook, asking which other vets in our area our friends would recommend. After reading many responses, we felt confident that LAH would be the place for us. The surgery went well and the price was much more reasonable. Recently, we had a need for urgent care and they were able to fit us in the same day which has become very uncommon. The doctors are experienced and show a genuine concern for the animal's wellbeing. I give LAH a wholehearted endorsement.
