I hate to leave bad reviews, but it was a pretty terrible experience from beginning to end with mediocre food. My family and I went this weekend to have lunch for restaurant week. We had never eaten at Franklin social so we thought we would give it a try. When we arrived, we stood at the hostess stand for over 5 minutes until I finally walked up to someone folding napkins and asked if we could seat ourselves. She replied that she did not see us standing there and then took us to our seats. While we were walking, she reminded the bartender that “she was leaving soon and he shouldn’t forget about our table”. It felt so awkward that we actually asked the bartender if they were closing soon because we felt like an inconvenience. Both employees were very pleasant! We were seated, given drinking glasses, and a pitcher of water. Two out of the four glasses were visibly dirty and one had about a quarter inch of water in it. I was a bit shocked. Regardless, we shook it off and put in our orders. The appetizer came out incorrect twice and we didn’t want to send it back a second time so we just scraped off the parts our children asked to have removed. Mac & cheese was pretty delicious. Otherwise, the remainder of food was so-so. Drinks were very heavy on the artificial mix taste. I think we can confidently say that we will unfortunately not be returning to this restaurant.
Drinks and dinner. Not a huge fan of tater tots vs fries. But they were done nicely and were crispy . Poor Richard club was good but a tad small , only two layers. Drinks were not weak and service was very strong.
We sat for ten minutes before a waiter came to our table. We were 15 minutes early for lunch, so we ordered drinks and said we would wait for lunch. 25 minutes later 10 minutes after lunch time our waiter finally walked past and we were able to flag her down to order, after which we sat for another 45 minutes before our food was brought out! We were also one of only two tables in the restaurant, and we only ordered two things, straight off the menu with no changes. Over an hour of waiting for food that was just ok.
We ordered take out from here and it was delicious! They have many gluten free options including gluten free buns and tater tots! I highly recommend the burger and fried chicken sandwich.
Had reservations for 2pm lunch during restaurant week. Arrived 1:55 and waited for hostess:as she was waiting tables and assisting bartender. There was 3 people in front of us who said they didn’t have reservations but were seated before us. There looked to be 1 waitress, hostess and bartender serving everyone. We waited until 2:25 and left to eat somewhere else, as my SIL needed to get to the airport. Several other folks came in after us and left as well. Trash and silverware were also in the floor visible from hostess station. Do not recommend!!!
I like that they have French inspired breakfast menu on one side and American menu on the other side. Visited at least 4-5 times over our hotel stay at the Renaissance for breakfast and lunch. Service has been good if it’s not busy and food was wonderful. Nice vibe and decor as well.
Found this place on Yelp after a friend went "gluten-free ish". It's located inside the renaissance hotel. Decent menu, drinks, etc. The decor is nice. We went on a Sunday night and it was empty or what people might call "intimate". I had the foie, friend had the roast chicken, and we shared an order of the truffle frites. My foie was good, a bit oily but cooked well. Small portion but to be expected it's a goose not a horse. Friend's chicken was good, little dry. The frites were limp and oily. Dessert was chocolate mousse which tasted like it was prepared in house. Overall not a bad meal but nothing exceptional.
We had breakfast there. It tasted okay, but the portions are so tiny and too expensiveFood: 3/5
We ate dinner there last night as we stayed in the hotel. It was pretty much empty at 8pm. I had the lobster bisque. It was very flavorful but I think the lobster might have crawled out of the pot before it was made, because it had zero lobster in it, unless it was ground up into a powder. My wife and I had the NY Strip steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus and it was decent. Nothing to write home about though. My daughter had the Chicken Parm Sandwich that she seemed to enjoy. It came with these really weird French Fries. It’s almost like they were smashed but they were delish. Our waiter was a very nice older gentleman and always made sure our drinks were full. Overall, it was a nice place to eat, and I would eat here again. It’s not bad on the pockets either especially for the location in a major city.
Had the Hummus and Cobb salad with grilled chicken! Fantastic! Hummus was fresh, and definitely not store bought and the salad was great - I don't like a heavy dressing and was very pleased with the taste! I'll be back.
