Beautiful view of the river and bridge and really cool to be able to stand where Hernando De Soto first saw the river in 1541.
Nice for a little stroll to pass some time. Interesting facts posted throughout the park. Currently construction going across the way but still surprisingly calm. Great riverfront view.
This is a lovely park with great view from the little rise, and nice trees. Some neat history mentioned as well. Worth a stop of nearby.

The park was small and had not been mowed, the grass was a foot tall. One Indian statue and that was it. Even the benches needed attention.
Very simple, well manicured park with nice pathways. There are benches overlooking the river that provide a great spot to watch the sunset. Lots of free on street parking.
I have come to the Indian mounds now named “Chickasaw Heritage Park” since 1975. I love the mounds and the ramps that curve up to them all through College and Graduate School. To me they brought quietness to my soul.
