This restaurant was on my list from a Las Vegas foodie blogger that I follow and I am so pleased I went with her recommendation. It’s located in a unassuming shopping plaza with not much around and not in the old Chinatown plaza. From the outside I would have never found this place on my own or decided to give it a try if I drove by but glad we did. We were originally looking for dim sum but found ourselves here even though they don’t do dim sum. I wanted to try the mama’s special pan fried buns but the waiter said they are made to order and take about 45 minutes! Kinda disappointing since we didn’t want to wait that long. Decided to pass this time around but next time I’m gonna order these before I even sit down. We ordered the stir-fried green beans, crispy beef, mama’s special chow mein, shrimp fried rice and the pork soup dumplings. Loved every dish and every bite. If there are soup dumplings on the menu I usually order these and wasn’t disappointed, tasty soup inside, and dumpling wrapper wasn’t too delicate that it remained intact during the transfer to my spoon. Definitely don’t skip out on the crispy beef and this was my favorite, it’s a little sweet, crispy and packed with flavor. As we waited for our food we were surprised on how busy the restaurant got. It’s definitely a hidden gem that a lot of people know about.
Wow, this place is delicious! It's no wonder it was packed on a Thursday night at 6:30pm. I can only imagine how busy it gets on the weekends. We ordered the mapo tofu, salted egg yolk shrimp, green beans and crispy beef. All excellent dishes, but the first three were my favorite. Service was quick and friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised with how diverse the clientele was and loved seeing how comfortable people were eating Chinese food. My friends are locals and plan to bring their family and other friends here. I would also definitely come back to try more dishes!
Taste of mama. It is beyond good! The price is unbelievable reasonable and the quantity is huge! Staffs are very nice and cute. The taste reminds me my childhood in China. Will recommend for everyone who likes northern Chinese food. It is much better than some restaurants in Chinatown.
We brought our kids with us and they had the cutest plates! Food was good but was hoping for more flavor. The spicy orange chicken wasn't spicy and the sesame chicken sauce tasted like the orange but without the orange peels. The beef roll was unique, if I was to order anything again it would be that.
Some real good and authentic Chinese food served here! Really impressed with the quality and freshness of the dishes. Good and friendly service too. It can get a little crowded, but worth venturing out here for the food! The Crispy Beef is so good paired with just white rice. A lot of flavor and crispy edges that is perfect for it. The Dry Pepper Chicken uses a good amount of Szechuan Peppercorn so it'll have that hot/numbing effect that is unique. Highly recommend if you like spice!! All the dumplings were good, but I could have done without Mama's Pan Fried Pork Buns. They take a bit longer to cook ~40 mins and were actually my least favorite. I enjoyed the classic Pot Stickers or Steamed Dumplings better. Overall, a great place to get elevated Chinese food at a great price! Would visit again next time I'm in town!!
Not to be missed delicious Chinese restaurant. Go out of your way to find it and sit down and enjoy everything this restaurant has to offer. You won’t be disappointed. We were visiting from out of town and were happy to get a chance to stop by for a quick bite. I could eat here everyday. Pot stickers not shown because I took them to go. Just delicious. Easy to navigate menu delicious green tea. Quick and friendly staff.
This is a little hidden from the outside does not look like much but on the inside the decor is nice. My girlfriends Birthday and we ordered Steamed Pork Buns, Mama’s Special Pan Fried Pork Buns, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Crispy Duck, Wok fried Cauliflower with Pork & steamed rice. Note: the Crispy Duck does take some time to make so be prepared to be patient. All our dishes were delicious just wish the duck had more meat we got boney pieces. The wait staff was attentive.
Great customer service frfr. Don't need to make reservations but I believe they do accept them. The inside looks great but most importantly, the food is delicious. We ordered a few of their most popular dishes. Food came out quickly and hot. We will most definitely be back!!!
Best Chinese Food I've had in Vegas since moving here. Definitely won't disappoint. They also cook everything to order so sometimes the entree may come out a few minutes sooner. They wait is well worth it but the wait usually isn't longer then 30 minutes. Small restaurant so definitely recommend someone getting there in advance to put your parties name on the wait list. If you're looking into this restaurant I am going to say you go ahead and make this happen!
My first time trying China Mama and I’m craving again looking at the photos The food are all so delicious and very unique. I tried Honey walnut shrimp, wok-fried Chinese cauliflower, Mama’s special chow mein & crispy pork w Mama’s special sauce… honestly they are all good! The service is also very nice, the server ladies keep checking on us and ask if we like the food. They also provide hot tea Overall, this is a must try restaurant in Chinatown LV. Will definitely coming back!
