My Husband and I decided to do a little experiment this evening attempting to compare and or rate spicy fried chicken venues. We decided to carry out and enjoy our meals at home. My Husband was sad to inform me that the window attendant at this Churches location was to busy facetiming upon a customer's phone to include our fried okra that we were charged for. On a lighter note, the spicy fried chicken was tender and seemed to be marinated with flavorful meat opposed to breading. The mashed potatoes and gravy was a bit salty but fresh. The coleslaw was sweet and tasty. Churches biscuits won out the night being delicious and flakey though on the small side. Would loved to have rated the fried okra however they did not include it in our order.
Horrible experience, I spent $33 on a family meal. Chicken was fried in old grease even tasted old. I didn’t get my biscuits. Was suppose to have 3 large sides yet I got a small bag of what was suppose to be okra but was 3fries a crumble cheddar bomber and a few old pieces of okra inside a little fry box. Then they gave me two small containers of cole slaw with another container with 1 scoop of potatoes. Really y’all! Definitely calling the manager tomorrow. The cashier A. Guillermo is a rude little girl. Figured I’d leave before I blow a fuse! Update…. I went in the next day and the manager was more than helpful. She replaced my order. Made fresh and the day staff was great. Thanks guys!
Wow! Was completely amazed at the remodel. I want to thank the Night Manager Tim and Staff for an outstanding meal. They worked really well as a unit and had a hustle I don't always see in Fast Food restaurants. Was going to take pictures but wasn't quick enough to remember. The smell was powerful and we devoured it before we had a chance for pictures. We got the Texas Grande Meal. Will most definitely return here on a more regular basis.
If I could give this churches chicken zero stars, I would! every time I go here. The chicken is either undone or close to raw, or expired to the point the chicken taste like rubber! I’ve just wasted my money once again hoping I could get some fresh chicken and okra. The chicken is like chewing bubble gum and the okra was cold and old. The only thing was fresh was a biscuit I had to pull up and wait for. It’s like they cook the food, let it sit until they run out of food then they cook More food once they run out. Either way thru place lacks customer service and food quality!
They need to clean house at the 59th st. location. The staff there are completely inept and can't handle more than 1 car in the drive thru at a time. The guy with tattoos running the drive thru just isn't good at his job and needs to be replaced. They pull at least 3 cars in the line to a parking space where you will proceed to wait at least 45 minutes if they don't forget about you completely. I could maybe forget the terrible customer service and unreasonable wait times of the food was at least good. The food isn't good. The chicken I waited an hour for was dry and cooked in old oil, really old oil and completely flavorless. They couldn't even manage to have the drink I wanted. There were no good or redeeming qualities about my visit and they honestly should just tear the place down as this has been a bad location for years. The face lift didn't help for what it's worth.
Just wanted to take a minute to say I had a great experience on drive thru. Desiree was very kind. She knows what she’s doing. Great customer service. Will be coming back . Food was great .
Went to get a family meal and out of biscuits which is fine but had to wait 29 minutes for our food ! And than they gave me a small container of coleslaw in exchange for the biscuits and the drive thru girl was sweet and polite but the manager was rude and had a horrible attitude do better guys !
Food was good and still hot even after like 20 minutes of getting the food. The manager was very good and attended to our concerns very quickly and in a friendly way.Food: 5/5
Its a nice store and has some good food, and they will make it for you fresh if you ask. The menu changed a while back but its more convenient in my opinion, even though they did seem to remove some items and changed the pricing on others. Other then that its a nice place to eat. My big complaint is the front lobby. I understand that, at the time of this post, we are in the middle of covid 19 so the restaurant is taking precautions to keep their people and customers safe...so if they need hand sanitizer, gloves, face masks, and barriers for both parties then why keep front lobby open? Just seems odd to me. Regardless a good place to get some southern comfort. So what are you waiting for? Go eat!
They changed everything. It is cleaner and neater and much more efficient. The person taking my order was really nice and super fast. Also the chicken was delicious.
