I have been here twice now, wouldn’t have come back if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. You will sit and wait 2-3 hours in the waiting room. It’s absolutely absurd.

We’ve been going to CEI for forty years and have always appreciated and relied on their professional staff.

I have been a patient with CEI for over 5 years, with 3 eye operations under my belt and all the follow ups, pre care and post care that go with that. The doctors are very knowledgable and skilled, and the staff AT CRESTVIEW HILLS OFFICE are very friendly.
That said, the office has been an exercise in patience for years, to the point that I now dread having to go for an appointment. My last appointment, from start to finish, was in excess of 4 hours--more than 90% of that time was spent stuffed in overbooked waiting rooms. While they have expanded, it is too early for me to determine if there is any significant improvement. What is certain, however, is that the excessive wait times and overbooked appointments need to end.
The other major problem is that Crestview Hills does not publish a direct number. This has been a problem for me for 5 years, because I have had to call a number of times for urgent medical issues. The people answering phones at the 331-9000 number are among the rudest, nastiest, and least competent that I have encountered in any environment. They have proven over and over to me to be incapable of following through with obtaining call backs from the Crestview Hills office, have provided incorrect contact information repeatedly. When I confront them about it, they deny any accountability; I get the "I passed on the message, what else do you want from me," disposition, with a healthy dose of attitude; sad to say, I haven't spoken to anyone at that number that has been an exception to this poor service in over 5 years. If you can find a direct number for Crestview Hills, hang onto it like gold, and better still, post it on the internet for everyone else.
In conclusion, this is a good outfit overall from the medical treatment standpoint, but I have found the wait times excessive, and the response/attitude from the main number attendants inexcusable. I have some faith the former will change with the expansion at Crestview Hills office. I share no such illusions on the latter after 5 years of dealing with it.

Cincinnati Eye Institute does a good job at what they do, but their organizational skills leave a lot to be desired. My last visit I spent several hours waiting because they overbooked which cost me nearly $300 in missed wages since I was a contractor at the time. I hope they work to improve this.

Excellent staff, extremely intelligent and professional, team oriented concepts making superb decisions supported by data driven university studies. If you get annoyed because you have to wait then don't go here but if you want the best for your eyes then this is the place. They are frequently busy... a lot of people have a lot of complicated issues. They aggressively and properly care for patients not herd people thru just to match the clock. So stop bitching, relax, and enjoy the complicated process... having vision is a gift and CEI helps with the blessing of sight. I've witnessed CEI restore my sons eye sight from total blindness! CEI has been been extremely helpful. I have no personal or financial relationship with anyone at CEI... only a satisfied customer.
