I went to Cinema 21 recently for the first time. More recently, I went into Cinema 21 for a second time. I love this theater. Everything about it. The food is good and reasonably priced for a movie theater. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I am a bit flummoxed about why I had not tried it sooner! The price of tickets are low and a great value for experience provided. I saw Nope and the Leonard Cohen documentary on two different days. Both days were hot and very busy on NW 21st Ave. I slid into the theater and all of that melted away. There is local advertising before the movie starts, which is excellent and fun. The whole place has the best vibe and I am looking forward to making this a regular part of my future months in NW Portland.
This is a very nice retro theatre with all the new movies that other cinemas have. Usually very empty so you have lots of space to yourself. Screen one even has a balcony with seats, which I had completely to myself and my friend. Prices range from $8-10. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE
Saw an non-Hollywood movie in an intimate setting at a low cost. What more could one want? Employees who talk to you with insight an intelligence about the films? Oh yeah, that too. They know waaaay more about good movies than I do, so it makes a visit feel almost educational. I wish I could go every week.
Awesome little theater. Good selection of snacks and alcohol. Their popcorn is fried in coconut oil so if you want it vegan ask for no butter added cause they use the real stuff. Theater sizes vary but the smaller ones are quite intimate and i find it really fun to experience the film with the entire group.
I was thoroughly impressed with Cinema 21 for my first time. It was a more casual and friendly experience than your super multi-screen tbeaters and they offer a great mix of movies that the more commercial wouldn't/couldn't show. I will be returning for both the experience and the caliber of movies.
Always a pleasure… comfortable seats… great variety at freshly stocked snack bar… awesome for families or date nights! Reasonable prices.. definitely worth it!
Watched a film here for the first time in years. Love the original theater #1 and the comfy seats. Yes, there is some food including pizza, beer and wine in addition to popcorn and snacks.
Cheap, not too crowded and cool movies! They don't make you open your bag like the big theaters, which I find highly irritating ha. There's a market right next door for you to stock up on snacks to put into said bag. Wheelchair accessible the bathroom I used was not & I didn't notice if there was another restroom I was in a hurry sorry! Tickets $9 before 6pm $11 after 6pm.
Great cinema with a wide spectrum of movies. Not just cookie cutter, formula movies. Micro brews available. Large main theatre. Street parking can be a challange if you can't parallel park. Worth learning though.
Very nice experience. Lots of room and good movie pic and audio. Staff was as good as it gets. Very personal and easy.
