We are a family owned and operated, full service facility.

Story

Clark Boat Yard & Marine Works is founded on four generations of highly skilled marine craftsmen. Originally opened in 1934, Clark Boat Yard is nestled behind the historic Round House and Racquet Road Wildlife Refuge where our customers enjoy views of the Newport Bridge and Clingstone, the house on the rocks.

Centrally located just south of the center of Jamestown, we offer convenient parking, dinghy racks, a touch and go dock, boat ramp and marine cradle in order to ensure easy access to a day full of boating fun and enjoyment.

Remnants of an historical New England boat yard blend with the modern amenities our family has introduced to the boatyard. Come and join us for a fun, relaxed boating adventure or talk to our craftsman about vessel maintenance and expert repair. At Clark Boat Yard and Marine Works, your boating enjoyment is our highest priority.

I am launching my boat after being on hard for several years and have hauled it to Clarks for final prep and commissioning. They could not be more helpful, knowledgeable and user friendly. Unlike some other yards, this yard is not pretentious, snobby or exorbitant and I have had no issue doing the minor projects that I wanted to do myself. The common goal appears to be to get the boat in the water so the fun can begin. Other yards work at their own pace and schedule and make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Also, other folks are in the yard getting their boats ready and it is a friendly and helpful lot. This is the place for the recreational boater or cruiser. Thank you.

Excellent service. Eager to please. A beautiful location. Don't know who the negative Nellies are but I am guessing they don't like much of anything.

Looked at a boat at Clark's that was for sale by a private owner. The work the owner undertook was far over his head and beyond his ability. Bottom line, Sara and Gary Clark helped broker an arrangement, the vessel was not destroyed for scrap, I am salvaging and refitting the sloop, in my family tradition. I know that when the vessel is completed, it will make the Clark family proud. The Clark Boat Works is like being home for me, in that Dyer tradition, do it once do it right! "If you don't go here your nuts!" You can quote me!

I bought a boat that happened to be here when purchased. I had Clarks do routine launching, storing, winterizing etc. I also had them do a fairly complex rewiring job which included new batteries, alternator, etc. I was very happy with the work. All was on time and on price. In fact I'd like to quote the surveyor (and many others) who said after viewing the new battery box and wiring "That's a work of art!". Highly recommended!
