This consignment shop has high quality styles and a nice clean store with everything organized very well. They also have an option to sell your merchandise to them for cash, rather than needing to consign your goods. The prices are great and I found a lot of wonderful clothing here.

Every experience I have ever had at Clothes Mentor in South Windsor has been AWFUL! Every time I bring clothing to sell here, the staff is condescending, they barely accept anything, and offer around $3 (sometimes less) for the items they do accept. Whenever I shop here I find clothes that are shrunken, have holes, have missing embellishments, are pilling, shoes with mismatched sizes and clothes with labels MUCH older than the labels on mine that they pass on for being a year or 2 past their supposed 2 year guidelines.
For reference, I am a woman in my late 20's and care for my clothing very meticulously. I buy clothing at high end stores like Nordstroms, Jcrew, Madewell, Anthropologie amongst other popular pricy stores. I have worked in a consignment store in the past and know what to look for in terms of style, condition and season and I know my price points. I have brought clothing to my favorite consignment shop, Savvy Swap in Portland and had all my items happily accepted, priced appropriately and sold.
Today at Clothes Mentor after being ignored for 5-10 minutes by an employee that was supposed to be reviewing items but was instead conversating with an aquiantance, I was offered $3 for a current-label like-new Jcrew top that I paid $98 for, and $3 for a like-new Anthropologie zip hoodie that retails for at least $78. I pointed out to the woman how recently I bought the items and how much I paid. She responded shortly with "Resale. You can't get that much." But I do know it can be sold for at least $28 (1/3rd of retail) and get roughly 40% of that because I have worked in "resale"... So I took my items back and will continue to bring them to Savvy Swap instead.
Wendy, the owner of Clothes Mentor once showed me a Louis Vuitton I had asked to see and said "I like to let everyone see our Louis because who knows... someday you might win the lottery." Funny thing is I had enough money in my bank account to buy the bag at least 10x over but I decided I'd rather not hand my money over to someone that judges their paying customers in such a condescending manner.
Keep your money. Consign/Sell elsewhere. This place outright sucks.

Horrible customer service from the majority of the employees, including the woman who I believe to be the owner. I have been to MANY Clothes Mentor stores and have always left happy. The manager was very rude. I overheard her talking about other customers. She was talking very disrespectfully to her employees. Not to mention, all of the designer items that I brought in were looked up and they found the lowest possible price and then used that as the retail price. Not a single other Clothes Mentor store has done that in any of my experiences selling there. At other locations, I have generally always been offered fair prices with great customer service. I'm sad to say they definitely did not live up to my expectations. There were a couple of employees who did treat me with good attitudes, such as a younger girl named Chelsea and one older woman. To them, thank you for trying to make my experience at your location decent. To other customers, please keep this in mind before visiting this location!
