This place is great! A really nice warm and tropical feeling inside. We started with the Poke Bowl, which to say it was amazing would he an understatement. We could have eaten a dozen bowls it was that good. We then had the Hearts of Palm, again so good! We also had Grilled Calamari, it was good, just a little over cooked on the grill. We then had Spam Fried Rice, this we were interested in trying. We were NOT disappointed. It was so tasty. We have a new found love for Spam. We finished the night with Coconut Cream Pie which as with the rest of the dishes was so good! Can't wait to come back again on our next trip!
My friend wanted to go here for his birthday. They were able to accommodate our large party without a reservation. The venue is nicely decorated and detailed, very modern. I loved our waiter and his vibe! I feel that it would more accurately be described as a tapas bar, as all of their plates other than "big plates" are small and designed to be shared my friends didnt know this and ended up regretting that they didnt order more food. I ordered the spicy coconut chicken and had enough for lunch the next day. Pictured is their disco nap cocktail. Their tropical menu is something special in DC but be prepared to splurge a little. They brought spam to us to try for free, and it was so good we wished we had ordered it originally!
A friend recommended this place to me. I had a friend in town so we got a small group together and headed to union market to check out this spot for brunch. We discussed the food at our table and had a hard time describing exactly what it was. A bit Korean or Hawaiian, maybe even a little Jewish style salmon Benedict. Everything was very good. We especially enjoyed the kimchi fried rice, spam fried rice, and pork ribs. Everything was very good and the service was great. I can't wait to come back when it gets warmer because they have glass garage doors they open up when the weather is nice. We had some bloddy marys and fresh coconut water which came in a real coconut! I would definitely recommend to DC residents who want something good and unique to try.
Another random find on my way to Angelika movie theater. went to go see Captain marvel and so did this place was right next door to the movie theater. Stop by afterwards to see what kind of food and establishment it was. Seems to be a really hippie cool different kind of bar. Place was nice very spacious the customer service was amazing I only gave it a 4 out of 5 stars because I feel like all good bars need to have some wings and I was really sad that they didn't have any wings. I would say the drinks are unique and well-proportioned.
Ambience and drinks are great! Pricing is fair at ~$13 each. Was happy to find a spot in back in hanging chairs which are first come, first serve. Service was nice, despite not ordering for food was given water and served drinks. Mine, the frose was quite strong and came in cute tiki glass with garnishes. Would come again when in Union Market area.
What a hidden gem! We came here for a Christmas pop-up bar and the drinks were hands-down some of the best I've had! The gingerbread drink should always be available lol- or especially during the fall and winter months!! Our bartender was just the best! He efficiently made our drinks but put time into them and perfect finishing touches. The Coconut Club itself is decorated very hip with a West Coast vibe that I truly appreciated. Such a great spot with plenty of seating. I'll be back!
Super fun joint! This place is going to kill it in the warmer weather. Duel garage doors open to the street. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Their specialty is SPAM. Heavy police presence outside. Joint is chilly, so dress warmly. Server was spot on and super friendly. Kid friendly. If you fill out the provided postcard with your bill, they’ll mail it anywhere for free! Bill show is for two super hungry adults.
What an amazing experience! I absolutely loved feeling like I was at the beach especially because it’s winter and the food was super tasty.
Went right when they opened on a Saturday.. what a lovely bar! Tried two drinks that were both delicious. Such a cute and fun atmosphere. Didn’t try the food though.
I find myself here once or twice a week. Super chill, no expectations, and very unique. Set in the old garage space of Maurice electric super old DC stuff...ignore, this cute venue offers Hawaiian style cocktails and light bites. There's indoor seating and an adorable little patio out front with park benches if you'd like to soak up some sun and check out the industrial view of the Farmer's Market, sorry- Union Market. The staff is eclectic and very friendly, chatty, and breezy. Try the "Mahalo at You Later" a frozen strawberry, rum and Chartreuse drink that is literally the bee's knees on a summer day. The fried rice and Patty melt will make you slap yo' mama and the music is always dope and relax. Go check it out!
