Colossal Cupcakes in Cleveland is one of my favorite bakeries for special occasions. This is not a bakery intended for a casual visit, by any means. Cupcakes are ornamental, locally themed, & "colossal" in size. Event catering & take-home boxes are available, including boxes for x6/x12 items. Dessert toppers, old-fashioned sodas & birthday cards can also be purchased here. Located within the 5th St. Arcades, accessibility can present itself as a challenge. When visiting, I recommend parking in one of the nearby lots, as street parking can be difficult to secure. Once inside, Colossal Cupcakes embodies a whimsical, fairytale-like setting that rectifies any inconvenience.

I honestly have to agree with a lot of the reviews concerning the taste of the icing used at Colossal Cupcakes. I don't really know how to describe it other than it's dense and tastes bland and overwhelmingly like Crisco. Not my favorite. But I do love how there a lot of unique flavors and the interior is gorgeous, especially at Christmas.

I loved the decor in the shop! There was such a variety of desserts and every one of them looked delicious! The cupcakes that I have had have not disappointed me. There is so much frosting on each of the cupcakes and something about each of them makes them so unique!

Really tasty, wide variety of options, though pricey. I was in town for a conference and I liked the cupcakes so much that I came back despite having many food options to try out in the area. I ended up eating 4 cupcakes in all, each one was distinct and enjoyable.

I was so excited to go here for the first time. I’m a cupcake enthusiast. I thought it was nicely decorated and a cute place. However, some of the cupcakes in the display case were falling apart and made it look a little dumpy. We got a total of four cupcakes and I have to say I was disappointed when I got home and ate it. My cupcake in particular wasn’t too dry, but my mom’s white almond raspberry was. Also, the frosting tasted like pure butter. They definitely can cut back on the amount of butter and add more sugar. The reason I gave it two stars was because you do get what you pay for. These cupcakes are some of the biggest I’ve seen and they’re relatively cheap. I just hope they fix the frosting recipe because it wasn’t all that great.
