Came in for the first time and got a library card! It was super easy. Sat for a few hours on my Surface tablet and did some work. The wifi was a little slow--I'm not sure if it was because of my VPN. I was only looking up info, no videos or anything. Kids from the local school came in and were a little loud, but I'm glad they have somewhere to go and feel comfortable. I know there's been transportation issues with Columbus schools. I don't expect silence out of libraries. I'd be wearing headphones if I didn't want to hear anything. There was a lock down while I was there. I have no idea what was actually going on, so an announcement of some kind would have been nice. For example, they did let people leave if they went together with the security guards through an alternative exit. Were we in danger? No idea, I kept typing away LOL There's street parking, but the parking lot is pretty tiny, I can see a problem arising if you're wanting to stay long and there's a busy day.
It was an honor to be a part of the new MLK library look. The architecture within the MLK branch diversifies the structure. Their decorative displays inform patrons on new book releases. Moving works of art throughout the library as well as a small exhibit of a nice collection of artifacts near the entrance The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help. Diverse book collection. It feels like you are at home with extra guests and hundreds of books, some dvd’s, and some music to select. Parking lot walking distance from the library. Also free street parking on Long St. Can you find my name in the memorial?
Wonderful library branch. My daughter loves coming for the various programs and activities they have for kids. Great resources available for kids after school including homework help and snacks. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We visit multiple times per week.
Still seems brand new! Art pieces when walk in. Multi level areas to enjoy books & quiet atmosphere. Ty
Very friendly staff, lots of community events, and all the essentials on their shelves!
Helpful and welcoming librarians. Very clean and well-sanitized spaces. In the children’s section, there’s a sizable pretend school bus for toddlers and young children to play and read in. Board books are at a lower height which makes them easily accessible for babies and toddlers.
Beyond the Brix, was laided back. The jazz artist was excellent. The food was very good. The owner was very welcoming. This is a black owned business that has live jazz every Friday evening. Highly recommend checking them out. There is a 5 cover charge per person, I am sure that helps to pay for the local jazz. Such a nice, relaxing evening out. We will return on this Friday. Love it.
Amy was helpful and kind in the children area. She asked the ages of my nephew and granddaughter and was knowledgeable about age appropriate books for each of them. The staff all together were helpful and friendly
