The staff are seriously great. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and hard working. We were here for a few days with our pup when our power was knocked out by a tree. These ladies were so nice to us! Grassy area and poop station for your pets was nice. The breakfast with Belgium waffles was great.Rooms: 2/5
Zero pride of ownership. See pictures!!! Owner needs to get back into this building and give it and the staff and guests the care that they need. Most basic maintenance not done. Torn up carpet, screens missing from window. Scratched, stained furniture. Wallpaper falling off of the wall in multiple places, mold in bathroom, filth from multiple guests all over walls near garbages. Frigid swimming pool that used to be a very comfortable temperature. Note: I stayed here in the past multiple times and LOVED IT, but the last time was 5 years ago. This place was very well built and it's amenities were lovely. It is in an unacceptable state currently. I stayed because hotels were packed out in the area and my stay was brief. Thus location should not be part of the Comfort Suites brand.
Hotel really needs a face lift. This feels like it has not been updated since the 80's. Paint peeling, holes in the wall, carpets and furniture could all use some steam cleaning. No smoking room but burn marks on the toilet seat. Water wouldn't get past luke warm, and the drain wouldn't stay open. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. The one and only thing I will say is the bed was comfy. This one is checked off my list of places to stay, won't be coming back.
The hot tub is missing Jet rings so it's on its way out and only around 101° but at least it works for now... that's more than I can say about the dry sauna which is posted OUT OF ORDER! Was the main reason I booked this hotel...pool is cold but tolerable. The room has 2 queens and a hide a bed couch so can accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids Rooms: Nice room...have to ask for pillows early on or they will be out
This place is kinda a hidden gem, kinda away from the messy parts of Portland and great price for a very nice room. This is the first hotel I have ever seen with big screen smart TVs that you can cast videos from your phone too, they also have Comcast if you are from the old school. The best part about the place is they have a full service breakfast room with a real breakfast like eggs and sausage and waffles or biscuits and gravy depending on what day you show up and you varies a little bit but there's always waffles.
This location was the filthiest hotel ever. Not only dirty but the furniture was broken, wallpaper dirty and peeling. We had 3 non-smoking rooms that stunk like dirty ashtrays. When we went out our clothes smelled like cigarettes. The bathrooms were dirty. The carpets were dirty. The bottom of our socks got dirty as we walked across the room. The locks on the doors kept going berserk and wouldn't work so we had to keep going to the front desk for them to fix the locks. We were given rooms on the third floor but the elevator was not in service so we had to haul our luggage up to the third ourselves. We had to climb the stairs about three times a day which was putting our 82 year old grandma in a very difficult and delicate situation. WARNING:. Do Not Go To This Nightmare of A Hotel. I have never seen such disrepair and filthyness in any hotel.
We have stayed here in previous years but this weekend was awful. We has a reservation for Saturday and when we arrived the room smelled like mold like the place had previously been flooded, the TV didn't work and Brittany the desk clerk said there was nothing she could do. My husband came back to the room there was garbage from last person in garbage can, bed was in disarray. He went to tell her he was not making me sleep in there. When they came back she agreed and saw goo on the walls. She stated she could not refund our money but would stand up for us and to call on Monday. So we left I took pics emailed the GM with our complaints. When I called today Miss Jessica Reyes was rude disrespectful and Said she refunded us 30% there was nothing to discuss. When my husband called her again she was rude disrespectful and hung up on him saying there was nothing to discuss. I am never been so disgusted and insulted when the hotel doesn't even care what people are dealing with in their rooms. We will never be back and I will let everyone know how you treat customers.
It did not look promising as I walked in to check in - the entire housekeeping and front desk staff was having a gabfest at the front desk. Extremely unprofessional behavior that never let up - every single time we walked by the front desk, there they were, either standing around, talking and laughing, or chatting on the phone. One evening, we were waiting for someone to pick us up in the lobby, and there was a full-on drama, complete with profanity. It seems one of the employees' children had gotten into a fight at school. Isn't there an office they can go into, so guests don't hear every detail of the employee's lives?? When we'd checked in, we noticed the need for repair all around the property - shabby wallpaper in the room, tatty torn lampshades, and worst of all, a leak in the bathroom sink that put water on the floor every time we turned on the tap. I went to the front desk to complain and - you guessed it - the lady on duty was gabbing on the phone, so I couldn't get a word in edgewise. One of the reasons we chose this property was the indoor pool and spa, but the nozzles were missing off the jacuzzi so water just foamed up and got us all wet above the neck. We didn't go back the next night. We also noticed many buzzing and broken outdoor lights, which would be truly awful to sleep with right outside the window. Breakfast was pretty nasty - black bananas out on display, the juice machine was out of order, and there were no eggs nor sausage on offer. I passed. That evening, we came back and the room key suddenly didn't work, so we had to go back downstairs to have it reactivated. The room had not been made up at all, not touched. Wet towels from the leaking sink still on the floor. Yuck. We were looking for a hotel we could stay at regularly as our two children both live in Portland now, and we want to visit them often. The location and the setting are perfect for us, but sadly, unless they do some serious remodeling and restaffing, we will never stay there again.
I made my reservation more than 10 days in advance. I reserved a king suite with a jacuzzi tub. When I checked in they said they were over booked and couldn't give me that room. The manager was called and I was told they would give me a great price on the regular king room when he came in. I asked to see him the next day and he wasn't in. When I checked out on Monday morning at 11am I was told he still wasn't available but they would leave a note to remind him. When I checked my credit card statement a week later I had been billed the original rate for the jacuzzi room. No discount. The room I did stay in was dirty. The carpets were so bad that my socks were filthy from walking on them. However the front desk staff was nice and I had no problems with them.
The toilet didn't hold water in the tank making it impossible to use and when I called just minutes after checking in to inform them the woman working the front desk was busy playing with lego's and only said "what do you want me to do about it" "just use the toilet down at the lobby or find a different place to stay" "you are not getting any refund" and was also having a small pizza party with a few friends that had on so much perfume I was having trouble breathing. Plus zero pool towels and dirty floors in the room as well as pieces of trash and food left behind by the housekeeper. Spa water had strange film and smelled funny. I would definitely recommend that you not stay with this hotel. P.S. continental breakfast was terrible tasting with cold eggs, sausage and bacon a toaster that didn't work and warm milk for the cereal.
