Visited Common Ground with a few friends for a lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. I ordered the Hampden Special, a combination of 2 eggs, a mayo aioli sauce, and some lettuce to balance it out. It's usually put on ciabatta, but you can ask for it on a bagel. The bagels were great, although a little on the small side. The sandwich worked really well. I also got an iced coffee which was average. The absolute highlight of our trip were the muffins. We ordered a chocolate muffin gluten-free and a snickerdoodle muffin gluten-free and vegan as well. The snickerdoodle was THE most moist muffin I've ever had in my life. It sort of melted and condensed in my mouth. If you visit, please get a muffin!
So, I’ll just start by saying, I love finding food gems in the city. I also love the vegan and GF option for my daughter. We have been 4 times already and each time the experience is amazing. I’ve called to check in inventory before and that was also a pleasant experience. We’ve tried the muffins Snickerdoodle Yummmm! They are the best. I also tried the White Chocolate Raspberry Coffee Cake. Yummmmmm! The Brown Sugar / chocolate chip cookie . Yummmmm! I also had the croissant with butter & Jelly. Yummm! Overall great experience and we will keep visiting. The atmosphere is awesome.
Wonderful shop relocated to Chestnut ave. It’s a warm and friendly kind of coffee shop. I enjoy getting school work done here. Internet has never failed me. Lots of really well rounded food options on the menu. Gluten free items can be made or selected from their pastry options. I recommend the frozen coffees.
The breakfast sandwich was incredible and it was such a pleasant surprise to find this place while we were out for a morning walk. Service was a little slow, but it allowed us to slow down and enjoy each other's company.
I go here at least 1st a week today I was treated to chocolate milk instead of an ice mocha latte I paid the $6 plus $1 tip there was no espresso in my drink or very little and there was sticky stuff all over the outside of the cup so I had sticky hands all the way to work it seems the people working here were too busy being social between themselves and then when you pay the $2 tip comes up 1st. also spend some $$ on a new door you can not get out if your hands are full. I would rather go to Starbucks where they already know my name when I walk in the door and do not expect a tip I will not be returning.
I frequent here at least twice a week when I have a morning off. I love the convenience of being able to preorder and picking up my order at the window since I have a doggo who loves a little homemade biscuit treat!. I always get the jalapeño cheddar biscuit, it’s a good size and nice little breakfast. I always switch up my drink order but I’ve never been disappointed by whatever I get chai, mocha, London fog, iced coffee, it’s all amazing. The staff is super friendly and I always look forward to this little bit of happy in the morning.
I would really like to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately I can't. I like their pastries and iced masala chai tea, but I don't think I'll be able to frequent this place as its just not convenient time-wise. Today, I ordered a GF chocolate muffin. That's it! No drink, no specialized food order. I ordered online and the app said the wait time would be around 40 minutes. Ok. I arrived. It was rather busy, but it didn't look they were short staffed. They had 3 people making foood orders 2 of which were standing around and talking, 2 on drinks, and 1 on register. There was also 1 person in the back. When I arrived there was already a woman waiting for an online order. I saw people come in, order, and get their order fulfilled before myself or the other woman that was waiting. This happened several times. I couldn't wait any longer because I had to be across town for an appointment. I didn't realize it would take close to an hour for a muffin to be placed in a bag and handed to me. I asked for a refund which took another 10 minutes because no one knew how to issue a refund hopefully my money goes back on my card. This isn't the first time I've had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes after the specified pick up time for an online order. It's pretty ridiculous to expect customers to wait that long for such a simple order, especially when they ordered in advance and especially when customers who are walking in and ordering are getting their orders first. I thought the point of online ordering was for it to be more convenient and to avoid in-store waiting? I'm writing this so there can be better management of online orders. Btw, the lady the was waiting for her online order when I first arrived was still waiting when I left...smh.
We ordered 3 coffees and a bagel. Took a little longer that I would have expected but the staff was super friendly. Great little neighborhood coffee shop and bakery.Food: 5/5
Place is a gem Lots of options for breakfast items and baked goods and best of all some decent gluten free options Reasonably priced Why 4 stars … their lattes always missing a note
Absolutely blessed to have them in my neighborhood. Their staff are lovely, and their breakfast sandwiches are reliably amazing, especially since they moved to the new location. I only wish they were open later!
