We absolutely had a blast at COSI! We were trying to fit a lot in and definitely needed more time and we were there for 5 hours. My little girl was three at the time and we did have to pay for her. I am a teacher so I did get entry free which was so nice! If I wouldn't have checked out the counter and paid cash I never would have known that so I'm glad we didn't prepay. The activities were fun and engaging. There were so many sections that we couldn't really do with our girl because of her age so we are looking forward to going back multiple times as she's growing. The tot area was okay for her. She is almost four so she was a little bored up there. She really enjoyed the house area. We really loved multiple areas where my husband and I could have stayed there for hours playing! I love that they had an interactive space where they could make parachutes and test them out! We really had fun in that area as well. I could go on and on... So much fun exploring science!
The over all experience was great!! There is plenty of things to see and learn from most being highly interactive to keep the kids entertained and engaged. Some of the themes include space, life, electrical, recycling and many more. Including a special exhibit featuring Cuba that I personally found very interesting. There is also indoor and outdoor play areas. The interactive stage was a nice break for the kids to enjoy an informative show on electric charges. The only down side was the extra expenses that aren't included in the initial entry fee. The Marvel superhero was the one that stood out for us. None the less we enjoyed our experience and look forward to taking the two hour trip back up again soon.
Very cool place with so much to see, for the very young to adults. Grab a map and wander around. I found myself having to stop the kids from just running up to an exhibit and touching everything and if it didn’t “do” anything, they’d run to the next thing- there is a lot of reading involved before you can do the actual activity. So, I had to call them back, read the instructions to them, then it was actually a cool thing to do. My kids were ages 8-12. They just wanted to physically do everything without really knowing what they were supposed to be learning about. So, adults, keep up and get engaged along with them so they know how to complete the activities and maybe learn something from them. The Marvel exhibit is cool, but I’m not a fan of the extra charge to see it. The outdoor courtyard stuff is fun and there’s a playground out front of the building too. There’s a cafe and gift shop. So much to do and see, could be an all day thing if you want to get your money’s worth.
There's a reason why this place is so beloved. We spent about four hours here and there was so much to see and do. One of my friends rode the high wire unicycle, the person who was running that attraction gave special attention to everyone I saw riding it, making sure they felt safe and making it a special moment. Also, this place is not just for kids!
The price was quite a bit of sticker shock, especially the random Columbus arts and culture fee .. but seeing how the kids reacted to everything, even how the adults in my group had fun with them was pretty awesome. We passed on the additional cost attractions so I can't comment on those ... Except the marvel exhibit. That alone is worth the whole trip for me, it's a FANTASTIC exhibit and I highly recommend it for adults and children alike. Staff was friendly and helpful. Atomic cafe food was excellent. Whole museum was clean and well organized. If it was closer to me I would even consider the membership program they offer.
There is definitely a ton to do for children and adults of all ages and plenty of exhibits and encounters that keep anyone visually stimulated and engaged with hands on activities. The price is fair for entry and there is plenty of surrounding parking. While the cafe area has many wonderful options it is way too small, especially when weather does not permit for outside seating.
I cannot express enough what a great time we had at COSI. We were in Ohio to drop our son off at soccer camp at TU. We were thinking about going to Cedar Point, but chose this place instead. We were not disappointed! We enjoyed the Marvel exhibition and the Motion Simulator which was about an hour wait w/advanced tickets. We were there for 5 hours and still did not get to see all of the exhibits. The lunch was subpar; the pizza was horrible, but the fries were great. We purchased a membership so we will definitely be back. My 11 year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself, and if I'm being honest, my husband and I enjoyed it just as much! We can't wait to return!
I love this place, but I wish it had more hands on things for the younger kids to do. We went for the Marvel attraction. It was cool, but definitely for teens and adults. They did have the costumes from the movies on display. We went on a Saturday so it was very, very busy, but that was expected. My only complaint is about the rude adults that do not try to control their children, or know how to act in public themselves.
This place is by far the funnest, largest and most informative and fun science museum I have ever been too in my life. The fact they have the marvel display right now going on is just the icing on the cake. This place is large. A lot to see. We didn’t cover anything outside, the entire kids are and I know we missed stuff in there and still spend over 5 hours going thru everything. Do not miss the planetarium show. I’d say get there about 10 mins or more early to be sure you get a good seat. I don’t know if the marvel exhibit is brining more people in or if it’s always that busy but for our show at 130 it filled in pretty good. If your a complainer about social distancing or a mask wearer don’t under rate somewhere returning to normal. Don’t go. If you don’t care like we don’t, if your in the area definitely go. This was one of the main highlights of our trip coming out here.
Hands down best museum I've ever been to. There's an awesome playground outside the entrance as well. The special Marvel exhibit is amazing and well worth the extra money if you're a fan. I highly recommend visiting if you're ever in Columbus.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
