Country Cooking

Decided to give it a try again. The collard greens are clearly cannedtastes disgusting . The cabbage was mushy and flavorless, even tried putting hot sauce on it. The Salsbury steak was OK. I can see why I stopped coming here.

The only reason this is really 2 stars for me is the amount of food you get. I think it may be worth another shot for breakfast as I haven’t heard a complaint about that but I was underwhelmed by the dinner. The cabbage and Mac and cheese has no flavor or seasoning at all. The Mac and cheese was like noodles and canned cheese soup. The cornbread was sent from hell. Hard a brick and smelled like flour and water. No cornmeal at all. The beef tips and rice were ok, still lacking seasoning but was able to eat enough to not hungry. The pricing was good however as this dinner was under $12 just wish it was good

The place Looked sketchy but I was willing to give it a try. The food was not good! The fish was overcooked and cold. The Mac was like Kraft Mac and cheese. The food had no seasoning and tasted old! Couldn’t even finish my plate. I hate wasting money on bad food.

I've been here a few times. The food has always been bland, but the portions were always a nice size so that's why I would occasionally come back. This last time I went the young lady preparing the plates wore her mask half down, no hair net... but surprisingly I was still okay with that. However, this is when I was completely grossed out...She kept wiping her nose constantly! She also kept wiping her face saying it was hot. She never stopped! She did this the entire time while handling food. Another older lady handling money never washed her hands afterwards and never used gloves began handling food too. I decided not to get anything this time around. People have their own opinions about Covid, but you can't deny Flu season. Not sanitary. I'm not coming back.

I would pass on this hole in the wall. $9 meat plus two sides. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn bread. Taste and quality aren’t as great as others like Busy Bee or Mary Macs. Def not a nice interior either but I could overlook that for a good ol country grandma experience- I’ll keep looking. Also it’s true it’s take out only.

You can get a meal & beverage for around $7 meat and 2 sides; they also have breakfast w a few southern items like hot links and fried bologna

This is a take out only place. They have been here for a very long time. They don't seem to want to make any changes or upgrades. Pish-posh on upgrading can They at least paint and change or get rid of the old dirty carpet. Makes me wonder about how they are preparing the food.

The food is off the chain .An you get a meat an 2 vegetables an corn bread an a drink for 9.55. An they pile it on. Best food. Way better than collard greens cafe,Cafe, cheaper.

Best little kept secret in town! Now this is the definition of a whole in the wall. You don't come here for the ambiance or clean walls and floors - you strictly come here to get good food at a good price!

One of the best "meat n 2 veg" places in town. It's worn down but you come for the food, not fancy settings. Good portions but watch that tea, it'll put you in a sugar coma unless you love it super sweet. Good staff.
