Close to airport 15 min and a shopping mall 1 min. Good places to eat within a few minutes of the hotel by car. Unimpressed with the service. Questions were treated like I was always bothering them. Hot tub in room was great. Bed uncomfortable for all the Marriott hotels I frequently stay in. There was no daily service to tidy the room or replace tails in a three day stay. Coffee in the room if you drink it but no tea. Not what I expected for a Marriott location. Hopefully next trip is better.
My issue is with my online reservation through Courtyard's website. I made a reservation on April 28th for the weekend of May 24 and 25th. After driving 5 hours I arrived close to 9.30 pm on the 24th to be told I didn't have a reservation for that night, my reservation was only for the 25th. I was told they were booked solid and there weren't any rooms available. I showed my confirmation for the two nights, then was asked who I made my reservation through. I showed i made it through the hotels website. After waiting while they made a call I was offered a room at a Best Western Plus which they paid for and 40,000 points; which i have yet to see. Why would i want to go somewhere else when my friends were staying at the Marriott? The people at the desk weren't responsible for the mess up and I tried hard not to express my dissatisfaction with them, especially after driving 5 hours. I check my Marriott account regularly to see if I've received the 40,000 points and I am still waiting! Nearby activities: The event which my friend was in was within walking distance
Have been to this particular hotel numerous times in the past 18 months. It seems to be declining with each stay. Last month they had no water bottles at the front desk. Can’t charge Bistro to your room any longer either. This time April, they have water bottles but the cooler is broken. Large crack in the shower floor and the room smelled as though the drain traps had dried out. Personally, I will stay at the Residence one exit north going forward. Was going to try the Springhill next door until I read other reviews.
Not one of Marriott's better efforts. We're Bonvoy members not by choice but since Marriott bought out Westin properties so really shouldn't be surprise by Marriott slumming down yet another hotel. Probably how they afford to pay the CEO $18mil a year. I'll echo what others have state in reviews. Was there for two nights both nights treated to either/or kids running up and down the hallways screaming or jumping up and down on the beds and stomping around on the floor in room above me. Also, seems a favorite pastime is having people randomly knocking on your door all hours of the night. Food in the 'bistro' was marginal to below average and lets talk about cleanliness. Dirty pillowcases and hair left in the shower/bathtub in the bathroom. No, that's Not my hair in the photo mine is rarely longer than 1-2 inches. The staff acted almost engaged so complaining likely wouldn't have mattered. Had to stay due to work over a weekend at the hospital will completely avoid this property next time.
On the Marriott Bonvoy website they offer a weekender breakfast rate. This location knows nothing about that. The staff wanted to argue that I booked through a 3rd party which I did not and logged in using their computer to show them the weekend rate. Hotel is amazing, room is cozy and I upgraded the hot tub room. The staff needs assistance in being nice, understanding and have compassion.
I was looking for a place that was in walking distance to the Empire Mall, offered breakfast and airport shuttle. Unfortunately, Springhills Suite next door was booked. Charles went above and beyond to help me with a lastminute stay at Courtyard Marriott. He matched the Priceline price, gave me a food voucher because Courtyard does not offer complimentary breakfast. And on top of that, he organized a personal shuttle time to the airport for me. I couldn't be more pleased with his customer service. He was pleasant, kind and very accommodating. Thank you, Charles for making stay wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the room was clean. This stay was great! I highly recommend it. Rooms: Room was clean and very nice. Only wished it had a notepad & pen. Nearby activities: Empire Mall, Restaurants Walkability: The hotel is located at Empire Mall Lot, right next to the mall. Food & drinks: Great local restaurants in walking distance.
Had reservations when traveling through the area. Check in was smooth. Staff was friendly and courteous. Good location off the interstate and not hard to find. Soaps and shampoo were furnished and a good quality. Beds and pillows were wonderful. Enjoyed the stay. Rooms: Rooms are a good size with the 2 beds. Lots of light in the room. Good TV.
Ok, little pricey. No breakfast included. They have a funny policy that they won’t make up your room unless you ask. However, they don’t inform you of this, so the joke is on you for the first night of your stay.Rooms: 3/5
Beautiful room, downside was the housekeeping/cleaning. My shower had a significant amount of body hair in it which was gross.Rooms: 5/5
The hotel was nice. When you first walk in, there is a spacious sitting area, which includes a cafe that has Starbucks, plus other items. Our room was perfectly fine. There were definitely signs of age, but it was clean and that’s what was important. The shower was nice and large. The bed was comfortable. There is a gym with two treadmills, two elliptical machines, one bike, dumbbells and workout balls. There is also an indoor pool and a hot tub. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool. It seems as if the front staff was a little understaffed. They did their best to take care of things and the manager was really nice. I’m mentioning this because I saw other reviews with this, but check your bill before you check out. They overcharged us, but made it right prior to us leaving. We made sure to have them print out a receipt just in case. This location is right off 41st in Sioux Falls within walking distance to the Empire Mall, Texas Roadhouse, Chick-Fil-A, etc. Walkability: Close to the Empire Mall
