Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

The Cracker Barrel Old Country is a wonderful restaurant that offers guests superbly tasty decent sized meals at very reasonable prices!!! In May of 2022, I brought and treated myself and my wife for dinner at the Cracker Barrel, specifically the branch located in South Portland, Maine. The staff at Cracker Barrel warmly welcomed us in upon our entry, and our server, Terry H. treated us with great kindness and did a great job on taking our orders and explaining the menu options. Both my wife and I highly enjoyed our meals, which included a steak based entree for my wife and maple bacon chicken meal for myself. We found our meal to be well cooked, perfectly seasoned and definitely delicious!!! When visiting Portland Maine, my wife and I definitely recommend that you visit and dine at the Cracker Barrel restaurant!!!

The food is good and the people are very nice. The store is always fun and automatically earns them a star. They are NOT gluten friendly, surprisingly having no options for gluten-free substitutions. They recently got impossible sausage and have mimosas!!!

This is the only Cracker Barrel in the State. It's wonderfully old fashioned. From the hearty meals to the lovely waiters which tell jokes and other quirky stories. We paid around 45$ for 2 adults with 2 10year olds. Very good food and too much to look at. It's like 50ties Disneyland without waiting in lines. If you are here it's a must to go. Have fun!! First time ever visiting a Cracker Barrell and it was awesome! Visited the South Portland location and felt very welcomed by everyone! Had Danielle as our Waitress and she was absolutely amazing! Would recommend this place to everyone, can't wait to visit again!

My wife & I absolutely love coming to our local Cracker Barrel! Especially during the Christmas season! Cracker Barrel has some of the best selection of high quality Christmas items. You go in just hoping for a good meal and easily get carried away in their little country store they have up front. Not just nice Christmas stuff, but other high quality small gifts are also available. My wife liked the huge selection of candles! After we bought our "Christmas Ornament of The Year" at the gift shop, we sat down to an amazing country style meal. We were greeted by friendly hosts and servers. Very clean dining room. My Meatloaf dinner was 100! The mashed potatoes were 100! Vegetables were 100! Honestly all the food I saw here looked extremely appetizing! I would just about eat anything on the menu! Above average quality of food in my opinion. Huge portions! One of the best parts of eating here is definitely the atmosphere! Cracker Barrel goes all out and decorates the entire place with incredible antiques! No matter where you sit, you're sure to see some amazing things hanging from the wall or ceiling. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the South Portland, ME area. Family restaurant. 5 stars!

Our server was new when we visited the other day, which I understand. It's hard for everyone to hire staff, I get it. It's just frustrating when you have to ask 4 and 5 times for the same thing. They weren't super busy, but I'm sure she was still overwhelmed. We still tipped really well, cause we aren't jerks. I always love going here, no matter how the service is. The atmosphere is just so fun!

I love this restaurant. The gift shop was full of merchandise to look thru. They had sweets and kids toys as well. Our waitress Amelia was a sweetheart. The food was delicious and filling. They have the best fried okra in Maine.

The food good. The wait staff was another matter. We had a waiter and he wasn't pleasant at all. Almost like we were a burden to him. He only came by once to see how every was. He seemed very short with us. If he was having a bad day or night for that matter he shouldn't take it to work with him. And the hostess was less than be desired. It was just a unpleasant dinner there. I'm sorry to say but we won't be back to this one restaurant in Portland. Love the store part if it and the historical things that they have in the restaurant.

Sarah was amazing! She was very personable and overall nice to talk to! She helped us find the best squishmellows and even went out back to look for more, she let us know we could call and ask her any questions in the future! Will absolutely be back!!
