Just built a bike from the frame up for the first time, and Cranky's was a frequent stop as I needed parts, tools, or advice. I can not say good enough things about everyone in the shop, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. The owner is often in the shop and wonderful to talk to and helped me get an awesome wheelset for my mullet build. Jameson helped me a few times with some finicky service things and got me up and running when I cracked a brake piston, and all the other employees, especially Cris, were incredibly friendly and always are happy to see you walk in the doors. The prices, friendliness, and professionalism is unmatched. Definitely stop in!!
These guys are the real deal. Anything bike related come here. You want next level service and inventory come here. You want knowledge and proper guidance come here. I came across them by recommendation from a friend. They treated me with respect and Chris, the owner, took time to answer my questions and help me understand what it means to have a properly sized bike. There new space on 800 south is amazingly organized and spacious enough to test ride a bike. All types of bikes can be found here and you can watch them repair bikes in the back. They also off military discount on parts and accessories which is cool. I highly recommend.
Great first experience at the shop. Came in with a rear derailleur and hanger that were both bent badly and the guys, and Clint specifically, were quick to take care of me. They were able to troubleshoot my specific problem despite exact replacement parts not being available those parts weren’t available at a few other shops either, but at Cranky’s they actually offered a concrete solution and got my ride rolling again just as good as it was before. Friendly crew, addressed exactly what I asked for, quick turnaround and all priced generously to accommodate a student budget - exactly what I was looking for.
My bike didn't change gears properly after the tune up relatively new bike that didn't have that problem before - 2 years old with 300 miles or so. After a brief pause to get that there was a problem they were super responsive but that still wasn't great. Much more minor things included they lost one of my tire air caps and the time estimate for the work was pretty off called and told 2 days, then they said 4 when I came in 10 minutes later, than on 4th day they said they would look at it in a few days so had to cancel a ride.
Cranky’s is the best. Great vibe inside, incredible selection, and whether you’re spending a lot or a little I always see them treat everyone with respect and it never feels like you’re wasting their time which is how I feel at times in some shops that are closer to me. Just got some parts through them to upgrade my hardtail and I’m stoked with how it came out and how easy it was to do business with them. Thanks guys!
Chris, Clint, Kevin ,and Luke helped me rebuild my gravel bike to a fancy Schmancy gravel/mullet bike. These guys are great! If your looking for no Nonsense bicycle repair and advise this is the place to go. They have never tried to sell me garbage or something I don’t need. Thanks for the great customer service and relaxed shopping experience. Big. J.
Best shop iv been to! Everyone here is really friendly. Along with doing an awesome job servicing my bike. I will definitely have all my bike needs taken care of at Cranky's from now on.
Needed help installing a star nut. Cranky's was the only place able to help same day. Service was fast and very nice. The shop is also awesome and has a sick vibe. 10/10 recommend
Best shop in town. Helped me out MANY times when no other shop would or could. So sad to lose them. Good luck with your new adventures!
Cranky’s is the place to go if you’re looking for a fat tire bike in Salt Lake City. You can tell that the team at Cranky’s loves bikes. They have a very large selection of bikes in the shop and will customize your bike to fit your budget. I have been to most bike shops in SLC and would highly recommend Cranky’s for a new bike purchase or repair.
