This place is a hidden gem… We ordered four rolls of sushi and you have to get the shrimp pad Thai as it is amazing… Would highly recommend the service is fantastic everything comes out promptly and most importantly the sushi was very very fresh
I have eaten here a handful of times over the years. It has always been a good sushi option for me in the city. Grabbed takeout from there for the first time a week or so ago, and the rolls were just as good as if I was eating there. If you are looking for an affordable, decent sushi option in Center City, suggest giving them a try.
Delicious! The vegetable tempura and the sweet potato rolls are my favorite. My son loved the chicken fried rice and the shumai. The mango roll was good. Great customer service. I knocked off one star because me and my husband had stomach pains for a few days afterwards. Might be incidental and if it doesn’t recur after trying this place again, then I’ll update the review to 5 stars!
Every dish presentation is different and spectacular… or crazy! Moving parts, lights! And the sushi is so fresh and tasty too! Definitely go, but make a reservation if more than 2, it’s small. Call now!
It took me a long time to go to this place because it does look kind of divey from the outside, but it has one of the best lunch specials in the area and surprisingly good quality sushi don't judge a book by its cover. The staff have always been very nice, one time there was a mix-up with our check and they were apologetic and fixed it right away. We usually go with a group of 4-8 people and they handle the orders relatively well, sometimes taking longer than other times but i understand it takes a while to time all of the sushi/apps and it gets crowded too. I will still continue to visit once in awhile for lunch.
Food was wonderful. Made for a great romantic dinner out with my husband. Will def return. Wide variety of rolls plenty of drink options. Everything was super tasty!
A friend recommended me this place. Apart from good “presentation” everyone seems to talk about the food is bad to mediocre at best. Fish served as nigiri and sashimi didn’t taste or feel very fresh - particularly the tuna which had almost purple color that made me wonder if they added food coloring maybe it could be the lighting?, the fish roe on the rolls clearly contained obviously more food coloring some flavoring that is not like soy sauce or other asian flavors - tasted kind of like cheap grape flavor enhancers. The rolls seemed to contain some kind of fish and breadcrumbs to increase the volume to avoid using more fish. My friend and I were both very disappointed with the food. Not only because of the food but also because the fact that the pricing of $70+ did not reflect the quality - not remotely close.
DISGRACEFUL SERVICE!! I received horrible service tonight at Crazy Sushi. Upon entering the restaurant, the employees were quite rude to me. I was with my elderly father and they were rude to him as well. Upon the completing our meal, I requested a plastic bag to carry my leftovers home. The waiter responded by RUDELY stating that he would Not provide a plastic bag to me. I then asked a different employee for a plastic bag. He then stated in a rude manner that he would retrieve a plastic bag. He then returned from the kitchen area and threw the plastic bag on the table in a hostile manner. As we were leaving, the waiter disrespectfully uttered "Bring your own plastic bag next time!" Then, upon leaving, my elderly father thanked the waiter and the other employee and wished them a good evening. They did not respond, looked to the floor, and gave my father a very dirty, rude look. We have never in our lives experienced such disgraceful treatment by any employee of any restaurant! Avoid this restaurant at all cost! Very sad that this dispute occured over a penny plastic bag. I watched them give plastic bags to other customers!!! I intend to file a complaint with the state commissioner on human relations & the appropriate federal agencies based on discrimination my ethnicity & that I am a female.
We were looking for BYOB sushi close to our hotel, and the one we chose was closed for remodeling. Hangrily, we asked the construction worker outside where we could find the next closest and affordable sushi establishment. He pointed us to Crazy Sushi and it was fate!!! I’ve had a lot of sushi, and this was THE BEST I’ve ever had. Delicious. Beautiful presentation. Decently priced. Tried the Peacock, Pink Panther and Bloomingdale rolls. Had soup and Shumai to start. All so delicious!!! The staff rushed us a bit—brought us the check without asking if we wanted dessert, and we did, so they lost our business on that one. Regardless, we’ll be back for sure!
I am absolutely in love with this place! I came here first on Friday and had to go again 2 days later because I was craving their sushi! The sushi is great and its affordable! One tip, order a house special roll because they decorate those! I got the “American Dream “ and it was absolutely delicious! I tried the crazy sushi roll too and it was great! A little spicy for me but good! They also have a lunch special 3 rolls and a salad or soup for $13 its an absolute steal!
