This brewery has an amazing selection of beer. Notably, they have a large list of sours and wild beer. However, they are way overpriced. The cheapest beer is $8 for 14 ounces. Most wilds and sours are $8 for 10 ounces. This is some of the most expensive draft beer in Denver. While it is quality beer, the over-the-top prices will prevent it from becoming a regular spot for most people. Great atmosphere, but mostly empty while I was there due to cost.
This place is so cool, it should be a bucket list item for all beer drinkers. Staff was informative and friendly. They have an incredible selection of beer. I went in hoping for some good sours and they didn't disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised to see their selection of IPA's which were equally great. This is a must stop if you are in Denver.
The visit was a great experience. It was initially a bit confusing to figure out the set up, but the brewery is in a shared space in an old warehouse/industrial building named The Source. The brewery has a large number of different beers on tap. If you like sours, you will fall in love with this brewery. They had one Porter and a couple IPAs on tap during my visit, otherwise an assortment of unique and experimental sour beers. The environment was fun and relaxed and the service was great. I also left with some cans, as they have a large variety of beer to go in the cooler. Price is a bit on the high side, but worth it.
I've been hearing about this brewery for a while and was happy to finally give it a try. I LOVE sour beers, so this was a little slice of heaven. You can build your own flight from any beer on the menu, which gave me a good taste of what they had to offer. The dark sour Nightmare on Brett Raspberry was my favorite and I never would've bought a whole glass to try because I normally hate dark beer! It's worth a visit if you're a fan of sours, but even if you're not, they do have other good choices.
Super fun spot with a lot of different things to choose from. Great beer selection with food and bottles available to go. Friendly bartenders that can correctly describe the beers for you. Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere with jazz piano overhead. That sets the tone for fully developed sours and a reserve list that would make any bottle hoarder jealous.
Located near the rear this taproom was simple but elegant. Not a huge fan of any of their drafts however service was great and provided a wealth of information on things to do in the RiNo district. Definitely glad we stopped in.
I have tried their sours at beer events outside of Denver and nightmare on brett is my all-time favorite sour, so a visit was a must when I was in town. The taproom is a little hard to get to but worthwhile. The tastings are very affordable and you can get food from the other stalls to eat there. Love this place, highly recommend for any sour lovers in Denver.
Honestly, this is my favorite brewery in Denver...maybe my favorite brewery in all of Colorado. If you are a sour beer fan, this is the place for you. Going to the Source is always an enjoyable experience, and I find myself going there over and over again, mainly to hit up the Crooked Stave Taproom. Their selection is vast and the quality of their beer is exceptional. Definitely don't pass this place by if you're in the area.
Not only the finest brewery in Denver but one of the ten best in the U.S. One of the only breweries that can match Belgium for funky, sour tasting beers with wild yeasts and such. A lot of variety within the wild ale family, but not a good choice for those seeking milder flavor profiles.
