Im so pleased with this school. From administration to the staff to security, they are all friendly and impressive. On top of an impressive scholastic curriculum, everyone on the staff has empathy - they connect with parents and children as people. There is a personal touch at Crossing Borders that can’t be found at other schools. The communication is highly effective, and all teachers demonstrate joy and sincere care on their jobs. I would recommend this school to any parent that wants a great school.
Crossing Borders is a good school. They balance learning, play, outdoor play, and exercise really well. I always felt safe bringing my kid to school, and we had no issues during the year that we were there. The main reason why the school did not work for us was because the Mandarin class size got really large. It was 10 kids when we started, and then maybe 5 months later it was at 18 kids. I felt this number was too high for one teacher who did not have a full time assistant to handle. Especially because there are 3 years old in this class too. Ms. Jessica is an amazing teacher whom my son loved dearly. I believe that she did her best to juggle that many kids. She is loving and teaches the kids a lot more than just Mandarin. She is always friendly, and seemed to genuinely care about my son. Even though Crossing Borders ended up not being for us, I do recommend them to any parent who's asking. They are well organized, have a fun playground, and they kids do learn whatever language you sign them up for . My son speaks to me regularly in Mandarin at home now, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Thank you Crossing Borders for a wonderful experience!
My son has been at Crossing Borders for a year now and we can’t say enough good things about it. The teachers and staff are wonderful, kind, and patient. I love being able to check in during the day via the app. My son is happy and learning a lot - it’s so great to hear his Spanish progress! I also really appreciate the flexible drop off/pick up times. I don’t think you can find a better value for preschool in Houston. Highly recommend!
Crossing Borders Preschool was an absolute gift to my family. My 3 children attended Crossing Borders Preschool from 18 months to 5 years of age over the course of 9 years. My girls entered Crossing Borders not knowing a word of Spanish and graduated from Crossing Borders speaking and reading Spanish. My children are continuing to thrive in dual language education in elementary school due to the solid foundation that they received at Crossing Borders Beyond the language immersion program, the teachers and administration are outstanding. They provided a warm and nurturing environment for the children to grow and become confident. . Thank you to Crossing Borders for giving my children an environment for my children to thrive and develop an appreciation for languages.
All three of my children attended Crossing Borders over the past 8 years and while I am so sad to leave this wonderful school, I am equally grateful for the experience, love and education we received throughout the many years. I have seen the school evolve since its early beginnings - from having a tiny administrative staff, to many specialized positions that most schools don't have. I witnessed the curriculum evolve to one of the highest of standards. The school manages to combine academics and fun in a way that keeps children engaged. Our elementary school can distinguish the dual language students that graduate from Crossing Borders. The school also does the BEST job with special occasion performances year-round. Watching the children sing and dance in either Mandarin, French, English or Spanish is incredibly moving. Everything from the decor to the organization and the mere dedication the teachers and staff give to each show is truly amazing. Elvia owner, since inception, has been nothing but kind, understanding and supportive. She has not only worked with us but also supported our other schools and has been an inspiration as a champion of language immersion learning. While I had a fantastic experience at Crossing Borders with each of my VERY different children; one must always take into account what is the best fit for their child. Every child has different needs and it's important to meet those needs and understand them.
Crossing Borders is a great school with amazing teachers. My little one was only there for a semester with Ms. Danielle, but she loved it and still talks about the teachers and her friends. English is her second language, but she became confident with the language and new environment within a few months thanks to everyone at school. We miss Crossing Borders and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a school in the area!
Both of my children have attended CB. My youngest son will be starting his last year there this fall. While I’ll be sad to leave, I’m comforted by the fact that he will be well prepared for his next school. My oldest son was able to transition seamlessly to his new school and surprised his teachers with how well he adapted. I credit CB and their curriculum for this. My youngest son often has to arrive late because he goes to several therapies during the week. CB has been very understanding and supportive with our varied schedule changes. I am incredibly grateful for this. Not all schools allow for this type of flexibility. I love that when I show up, everyone knows who my son is and greets him by name. That shows me that he matters. I’m grateful that my family has been a part of the CB community for years.
My son has been at Crossing Borders since he was 18 months old and he starts Kindergarten in August. We are so sad to leave Crossing Borders but excited for elementary school! He's been in a Spanish immersion class each year and it shows. Academically he is more than ready for Kindergarten. My son was also physically and speech delayed, the teachers and staff at school have been overwhelmingly supportive when he needed extra help. The owners, directors and teachers are hands on with the kids and are very professional. The curriculum is so fun and creative, my son actually plays with the crafts he makes at school at home. We have a whole little village he likes to use for Peppa Pig at home. I'm a former early childhood educator and have been so impressed by everyone there. They've handled safety exceptionally well, an off duty officer is there during the day and they only closed for one month during covid. They masked, cleaned, kept the kiddos separated, etc. I receive photos everyday through an app and get the weekly theme and vocabulary. The kids also get a lot of outdoor time at the playground and special activities like splash day outside. I highly recommend Crossing Borders to anyone!
My 2 girls have both been at CB over various years and returned for summer camp. They are well cared for, have plenty of fun activities to learn and play with throughout the day. Safety has never been an issue. Communication is excellent- I get photos and messages about them throughout the day and pics of them having fun. We are so thankful to have had the summer camp option when my girls went to public school. We still have playdates with other kids they grew up with at CB often- the parents and kids have all been friendly and well-behaved. There are plenty of teachers interacting and connecting with the kids, and my little one comes home singing Spanish songs to her babies and dancing/singing around the house in Spanish. Highly recommend!
Before choosing Crossing Borders International Preschool, we read many reviews and talked to lots of people about potential schools. We heard great things about Crossing Borders, and excitedly decided to enroll our 2-year-old daughter. But, I must tell you that our experience has far and away surpassed our high expectations, and we wholeheartedly recommend Crossing Borders with no reservations whatsoever! First, and I know this sounds a bit trite, but it feels like our daughter is the most important student at the school. They have shown such a special amount of care and concern for her that was not reflected in our other school experiences. The smile, joy, and sheer exuberance our daughter expresses to me after a school day is exactly the kind of experience we hoped and prayed that our precious daughter would have. The school has so many different types of learning experiences including reading, visual arts, vocabulary exercises, games, singing and dress up days. The leadership from Elvia Taylor to Zeina and Sol is first-rate, responsive, and engaging. The school has a particularly useful and informative app that includes regular pictures of your child during the school day. And the teachers are super nice, smart, dedicated, and caring. Our daughter is constantly telling us inspiring stories about her teachers. It is a true family environment. Our daughter has made great friends as a student, and impressively we also have made new friends at the parent level. Of course, her language, creative and interpersonal skills have grown tremendously. The curriculum is best of class. She has been going to Crossing Borders for about a year, and we look forward to what the second year holds. I could go on and on, but I think the point is made that we are very happy with our decision and experience with Crossing Borders. Jeff
