Cuba definitely keeps it authentic enough to get a taste of culture. The outdoor seating is fantastic. Service was kind and helpful. My food was made in 5-10mins. All ingredients seem quality. For me, the bowl came out to $15. They added things I had never had before like grilled/cooked banana that comes with all bowls. Which is very cool! Keep it authentic Cuba!
Great vibes and great food. Huge portions but really fresh ingredients that don’t leave you feeling grossly full. We got the pork plate with Caribbean salad and a Cuban with sweet potato fries. And a mango batido of course! This is a fun place to sit outside, chat, and try a couple yummy things.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: No

Cool Cuban casual restaurant with a food truck vibe and outdoor seating. The food is very good with nice portions served. We had the mojo pork and the picadillo plates, with white rice, black beans and fried plantains. Our only "beef" is that the food had a hint of Mexican in it. Cuban food has a very distinctive flavor that is definitely not Mexican. Special mention to the ripe fried plantains, though. The drinks were delicious.
WOW! Finally made it to Cubo! I'm only sad that I didn't go sooner. Every bite was perfect! Definitely my new favorite restaurant in Portland. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and Portland Bowl with a hardboiled egg. Hot Buttered Latte added as an extra treat. Every bite was a taste explosion of healthy, fresh ingredients! It was hard to hold in our happiness; we were both dancing a little in our seats. Eventhough it was barely above 40°F, we opted for outdoor-seating. The patio has picnic tables with outdoor gas heaters.
Very authentic Cuban food in a very authentic vibe. This place has a good size, covered, heated, patio that is great for gatherings of 8-14 people. The portion sizes are generous. Consider ordering a “kid size” if you are not ravenous :-
Everything we ordered tasted great. We had two different bowls Havana and Ropita, beef empanada, cafe cortado. The bowl has combination of delicious items beside the meat choice - fried plantains, avocado, mango, rice and bean, etc. My fork was dancing around all these flavors. Our bellies were so content. So glad we bumped into Cubo!!
I love this place. Super cute inside and out. The food is amazing. I love the sweet plantains that you can get with your meal. Great choice of rice to go with your meal too. The shrimp was spicy and delicious! Highly recommend this place.
I have loved this place for years, since it was a food truck in DT. Today, on an overnight trip to the city, had my window broken, so I went to Cubo to cheer me up. When I tell you, these employees were BEYOND amazing and cheered my whole day up! They were incredibly kind, comped s portion of my ticket, and sent me home smiling! This is hands down my favorite place and I look forward to it every time I’m here.
This place has options for Gluten-free but is not a gluten-free restaurant. They have a gluten free bread option for sandwiches and their empanada batter is gluten-free. Also they do serve alcohol as well. Covered indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and they bring out your food. Staff is friendly. They do have a small parking lot and there is street parking too. Food: It was a toss up between the empanadas and cubano sandwich, the empanadas won because they are gluten- free and it’s a rare item to find out in the restaurant lands. So glad they had this option! I got the salad with garlic dressing which was really good and the three empanadas. One of each kind, the empanadas were flavorful. I’ll be back! I can’t verify if they are celiac safe.
