The building is obviously a site of much history but it could use some upkeep in areas when you look for it. The service was great and the food was above average, but honestly not something to write home about either. Portions were a very good size too.

We went for brunch today. The food was luke warm at best. Even if it was hot I would not say that any of it would have been better than ok. The service was good. The bill came and they up charged $7.00 per person because it was mothers day without letting us know that there was a price increase from the posted $18.95 per person buffet. They also put a 18% "service charge" onto the bill for a party of 3 when they state that only parties of 6 get the "tip" on the bill. When the final receipt came it was asking for another tip. Had I not known to look for this I could have easily been screwed. Also typically for a buffet tip would be lower for they are not really doing full service waiting. I / We do not recommend The Curtis House Brunch. The others I was with were not happy either.

I've stayed here a few times. This place is cozy. It's buildings are very old (1736 perhaps) so the floors creek a bit. There is a tavern and a separate restaurant. The food is good at both. There was a blizzard during this stay and the staff was wonderful. They knew there would be no services so they made sure we had extra towels, soap and shampoos. Then the night of the storm, the chef came so we could eat. It was a very limited menu. I was very appreciative that he came in to cook a bit. I visit here at least twice per year. I really like it.

My favorite spot when visiting family in Connecticut. Great comfort food at comfortable prices. Wait staff is fantastic.

Charming little inn. We stayed one night and ate dinner at the restaurant. Clean and comfortable. Sharing the washroom was no trouble. Family owned and operated, very welcoming. So much better than staying at one of the big chain hotels. Call directly to book, it’s significantly cheaper. Highly recommend.
