Amazing whole animal butcher in Fairfield County with incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff! They’ve always got a great selection of beautifully cut, high quality, grass-fed steaks and lamb, pasture raised chicken and pork, and amazing housemade sausages. Personally, I’m partial to the hanger, denver and dry aged strips. Their ground beef is also the best I’ve had. Makes an incredible burger pro tip: pick up some of the tallow buns if they’ve got them. Kudos to Tim, Berenice and their team. The best butcher shop in the area hands down.

Excellent local butcher. High quality meat, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and lots of support for local and natural products. Whether we are buying steak for a Sunday night dinner, a fresh loaf of bread, or ordering an heirloom turkey for Thanksgiving, Custom Meats is our go-to!

We absolutely love Custom Meats! We don't eat any other burgers now. The meat mix is absolutely perfect - flavorful and delicious! The steaks...really anything we have had...are wonderful, too. We are grateful for this establishment in our town! Thank you, Custom Meats!

Called to inquire about a ham and they told us to go to whole foods and hung up. I didn't realize calling a butcher to ask about ham was offensive.

The best meats I've ever had! They explained how they buy the whole animal from local farms and cut everything in store. I'm so excited to try all of the various cuts. I picked up some of their sausages and ground beef and they were amazing. The store was very clean and the customer service was top notch. The owner, Tim, explained how to perfectly cook everything and was happy to walk me through their butchery process. Definitely my new go-to spot

I visited for the first time this sunday and I had a really good experience. Its spotless inside and the staff was helpful. I had an aged steak for dinner last night and chicken for lunch. I could taste the difference in the pastured meats for sure. It was so incredibly good! This is the only place I know where I can get pastured chicken and I'm so glad they are here and that I found Custom Meats. My son has a lot of food sensitivities and so I'm pleased to know that they are willing to fill custom orders. I plan to order some special order sausages. I have been making my own hot dogs and might not have to anymore that I've found this place!!

This place is incredible. I’m staying in the area for a couple months and was looking for a butcher to replace what I was getting at The Meat Hook in Brooklyn. Custom Meats was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been going weekly and the service has been friendly and efficient, and on saturdays the case is full of every cut you could want. I highly suggest getting a flat iron when you go, it’s by far my favorite steak and theirs is delicious!

Awful service. Rude people working. Claim that meat is fresh and cut that they when obviously that's not true. Save some time and go somewhere else

Custom meats has turned into my favorite shop for any meat product. The first time i stopped in i bought a bag of bones to make my own bone broth soup. 24 hours later it was done and really good as a clear broth to fight a cold. The next week i bought their fantastic bone broth which was amazing when i added it to three of their soup shanks made into a beef vegetable soup. The shanks were the tastiest I have ever had. The third trip I bought 2 more of their bone broths. I also made a terrific pasta sauce using their sweet 1 and hot 2 sausages plus their ground beef. Together it made a spicy pasta sauce rich with flavor. Everything has been delicious. Their customer service is outstanding. I purchased a gift card on my 2nd visit for a holiday gift that was very well received. It's obvious that they care about everything they do from the ribbon on the gift card to the flavors in their sausages to how sparkling clean their store is. I look forward to trying their bacon and steaks on one of my next visits. Highly recommend this store.
