S I heard so many good things about it so I finally gave it a try for myself. Everything was made fresh to order. The chicken strips were lightly breaded and tastes like home cooking as did the catfish. Definitely going back to try the gator, gizzards, liver, and shrimp.Food: 5/5
Small little place with fresh cooked chicken, fish, shrimp, and Gator.. only four stars due to no fountain drinks, tables need see work and the A/C isn't keeping it cool inside. Food is very good, especially for semi-fast food.
Friendly service, large portions of lightly breaded chicken, tasty sauce and perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries. Can't wait to go back to try the shrimp!
Everything was fresh and flavorful! Reasonable prices for what you get!
It was AWESOME!!! Hot, everything made fresh, clean, friendly, absolutely delicious!!
been there twice now, flavor is pretty bland and the wait was almost 45 minutes each time. I would love to love this place and I do believe it has potential but unfortunately it has been closed for remodeling for what seems like forever so I assume the doors will be shutting permanently soon anyways. :
Service and food at Chicken Shak are top notch. I've never received an incorrect order. Those in a hurry may be advised to order ahead, but even dining in, the food is always worth the short wait. Chicken is always juicy with a great breading, and the catfish strips are the best you'll find. The house sauce is worth coming in for all on its own.
Man this place is awesome! Food was hot and fresh, Mac and cheese was good and the spicy chicken strips were amazing. Not wimpy hot like some places, but not ridiculous hot or anything. So if you're in the mood for good food and want something unique, give it a try
Amazing, hot and fresh and inexpensive! Great portion size, clean bathrooms!
We ordered Tim’s Trio which consisted of 6 tenders, 2 catfish fillets, 12 breaded shrimp, and a choice of 3 sides. Our sides were okra, hush puppies, and macaroni and cheese. In addition to this, we also ordered fried pickles and one frog leg. The chicken tenders were very delicious, as were the shrimp, and both had a nice kick of cajun seasoning. We did not care for the catfish much. The okra was good, but nothing special, but we did get a lot of it as a side. The hush puppies were very good, but were small and we only got 4. The macaroni and cheese was a tiny dish of about 4 bites worth, but it was good also. There were a ton of fried pickles, and while they were good, they weren’t anything I would get again. We could not bring ourselves to actually try the frog leg, so I can’t really comment on that, lol! Overall, out of everything we got, we would only get the chicken tenders, shrimp, and hush puppies again. Came with plenty of mustard type and ranch dipping sauces though, and was well priced for the amount of food we got.
