Dan's Southside Marine

We love our pontoon that we purchased here in July 2017. Has everything we want. Dan himself even delivered it to our marina and showed us how to work everything.

Hit a deer at 75 MPH. It went under my tow vehicle and out the back, while towing my 17.5 Trophy....towing with no travel cover. Boat & trailer covered with blood and deer parts (whatever that stuff is that's inside their intestines). Then it started to snow (150 miles north of MSP) so I put the travel cover on, over the blood and guts. As an insurance claim I dropped the boat off at Dan's. They charged the insurance company $1150.00 for 2 tires ($250 each), and "clean up". But instead of cleaning the boat and THE BACK SIDE OF THE COVER, they power washed the exterior of my otherwise clean travel cover, damaging it with 100F water at 190 PSI. E.g., They boiled the 40% of the otherwise perfect silkscreen "Alumacraft" off the sides, and they hammered the fabric. (Cost of labor for power wash of cover...$130 per hour!!!) And they did not clean the boat. When I got it back, I went to lake with my family, pulled back the cover....the boat windshield, wall, carpet, boat sides still all covered with thick coating of blood and guts!!!!!...after 2 weeks in the sun!!!. Stinks like rotten deer. I am so angry with them I could scream. Their response? "Sorry. It is your fault Doug. You never asked us to clean under the cover." Unbelievable! Next step: I need to try to get the insurance company (American Family) to get their/my money back (AmFam paid them direct) so I can take it to someone competent...hopefully a place with enough basic brains to figure the situation out. (If a boat is covered with blood up to the edge of the travel cover, there will be blood under the cover...Duh.) I asked them to replace the travel cover, that they ruined!!!, and they blew me off. Long time custom of Dan's. Never again! I wish you had a rating for zero star!
