I was impressed that you were able to smell the seasoning of the boiled seafood from a block away. The location is really clean. The quality of the the food was impressive, and the service was good and swift. I will absolutely return.
A local brought us here for a taste of Nola even although we were limited because we were getting in a flight the next day. They were closing but they stayed a few minutes extra for us to get there in time. We were able to get what we wanted a la carte and it was perfectly delicious! I definitely recommend for some good old seafood boil even if you're limited to eating it at the hotel. Worked out great and we made sure we left no traces of our mini feast for 2.
Danny's Seafood is the place to go! I love the corn, careful it's a little spicy but so delicious!! Its fresh, not the frozen kind and the pieces are big. Every order is family size, be careful, a little goes a long way for a lot less money than you would expect. I also very much enjoy the small gumbo and shrimp, crawfish, crab legs and everything there is to offer . The is the best treasure a traveler could find
An incredible boiled seafood spot we found through a local!! My wife and I were having some oysters at Galliano's on our last night here in NOLA and a gentleman serving us oysters recommended this place. When we called and realize they don't open the next day and they were closing in an hour at 8:30PM, we had to make a move right away! When we got there thru a Lyft, we found this small shop in a local neighborhood, and you can only do take out. I'm so glad we were able to get bunch of seafood for $50! We got shrimps, crab legs, crawfish and a combo which consists of turkey necks, sausage, pig feet, potatoes and a corn. Wasn't a big fan of crawfish after trying a few places in NYC but Danny's changed my mind right away. Everything tasted so goooooood! I feel like they seasoned their seafood in perfection by not overdoing it but just enough to bring the great seafood flavors. Best boiled seafood I've ever had while not breaking my wallet. I guess I won't be able to have boiled seafood elsewhere until I come back!
Worst crawfish of the season so far. Not rinsed/purged At. All. I could have built and stuffed a strawman with the amount of grass, twigs, and general swamp smut in the food. A LOT of crawfish were feathery and crushed too. 10lbs were effing expensive and considering what I got, this was a huge rip off.
I purchased 2 pounds of boiled shrimp the Thursday prior to Easter. Upon arriving home, I began to peel the shrimp. Unfortunately to my shock and dismay, at least half of my purchase if not more than half was made up of shrimp heads, onions, celery, and lemons. The few shrimp that I purchased, minus all the additional seasoning, was a big rip off at approximately $10.50+ per pound. I have purchased boiled shrimp at many other seafood stores and NEVER had onions, celery, and lemons mixed in that I had to pay for… of which no one eats! Danny’s was recommended to me by two individuals and I’ve informed them of this terrible experience, not to mention rip off, as well as many others.
My crawfish was old. Didn't taste right. Do better Danny's.
It's okay when you can't get to other seafood places
Danny seafood was closed when we got there even though we arrived during posted business hours. They directed us to visit another location if we wanted anything. We just took our business to another nearby restaurant and decided that this visit would probably be our last considering we can never catch them during "posted" business hours.
Been going to Danny's on and off for years...great!
