Daylight Donuts

Made a random stop here and very glad we did so! It's kind of a hole in the wall but they have lines going out the store, and for good reason. The doughnuts here were the perfect flavor and texture, in my opinion. Not too cakey, not too sweet. They also have HK egg waffles here. I love bubble waffles! The only thing is that I wish they had more toppings for them like fresh fruit. I had mine plain because I didn't see any suitable toppings and it was so delicious. The milk teas were also fantastic and not overly sweet. My boyfriend was able to adjust the sugar level on his drink but I was not able to with my fruit latté. It didn't matter because they did not overload it with syrup. This is a place that focuses on quality, that's for sure.

This place needs a shout-out!!! I checked all the toppings they use, and it was all vegetarian/vegan. None of that gelatin stuff Their toppings are seaweed or agar based. For those who don't know about those alternatives, they do not change anything about the texture or the flavor of the toppings but are sourced from plants instead of animal boneswhich is was gelatin uses. As a vegetarian, that is really difficult to find. And these guys are in my backyard Super friendly staff as well! I'll definitely be visiting the place often!!!

Daylight Donuts has been around us for almost 40 years. A little boy and a girl who used to come there holding the hands of their parents, now have all grown up and come to Daylight Donut holding the hands of hisher children or grandchildren. The Legacy of Daylight Donuts reflects our daily life with our family, friends, neighbors… I’m loving their overnight rising yeast roll donuts that are cut, fried, one at a time just like my grandma in the farm used to make decades ago. Now with bubble tea as a new addition to the menu, it’s only getting better! Happy Tiger we can get in less than a minute here tastes far better and more fresh than the one you get in New York City where you have to wait more than 2 hours waiting in a long line! It’s certainly a Happy Place with a happy and clean atmosphere…. you just gotta check it out! :

I have been going to Daylight Donuts in Ankeny for about 20 years. Best donut shop out there! Employees are always kind. The white fried cinnamon rolls are the best!

This is THE BEST Boba shop. The Happy Tiger is the best Their donuts are also divine, but they run out early. Check Google for store times because sometimes they close early and you'll be so sad when you show up and it's dark. I've converted 4 people with the Happy Toger Boba who said, "I hate boba". Sooo worth a try and the shop is adorable. Nail salon and awesome taco/burrito shop that puts pancheros/Chipotle to shame right next door!!!

Super awesome! The man that took my order was super helpful and nice :. And the Matcha milk tea was awesome! First great experience.

They never have any doughnuts. Apparently if you don’t get there when it is still dark outside they have the leftovers people don’t like.

Absolutely love this place. The staff is very welcoming and I love bringing friends here! : The staff offer a cute photo wall provided with a Polaroid camera!

Just moved here from Vegas and was looking for my new boba spot and found it here! The donuts are a huge bonus. Smells amazing right when walking in and the employees are very friendly and efficent. There are lots of options for drinks and is fairly priced. Got a Matcha Creme for my first drink and it was very good!

Daylight Donuts is hands down the best! We had fond memories of one in NC and this one did not disappoint the memory! Their donuts are light and fluffy and their chocolate glaze actually tastes like chocolate instead of brown colored sugar like so many donut places — yum! Quick and attentive service too.
