We have received exceptional musical education for 6+ years from the Del Ray School of Music. Marcus is a great addition to the team and does a wonderful job helping students understand music theory in addition to teaching instrumental proficiency.
My daughter 7 y started violin and piano at Del Ray School of Music in Fall 2021. Less than a year, in May 2022 she had her first violin performance at her elementary school. She is happy, confident; her dad and I are so proud of her. All this, thanks to the excellent work of her music teacher Steve Attix. I usually do not take time to give reviews but now I am so happy of my daughter's joy, self confidence and discipline, that I've decided to make it publick for parents looking for a good school of music for their children like I was once before the great experience with Del Ray School of music. Give it a try, see for yourself!
This is a great institution! Steve is an amazing instructor. After taking just a few short classes I've learned new guitar techniques like sweeping, finger taping, and my ability to read music has greatly grown. He is a very patient teacher who not only shreds on guitar, but shreds on other instruments! I've started learning piano/keys and have recently taken up the drums with other instructors specifically Mike Falcon. If looking for a place to jam, learn, and enjoy music and music theory this is the place!! 100% recommend to anyone!
We could not be happier. Mr. Steve is a patient, kind and encouraging teacher. But he does it while encouraging our daughter to do her best and be better. Mr. Mike is a fun and engaging teacher who always makes the student feel like they can do more and better, while saying they have succeeded in that lesson. We have been so grateful for how kindly they handled COVID. We haven’t missed a week with the many flexible ways we could continue lessons. We can’t recommend this place enough!
I have been taking lessons with Steve for two years now - first in adult guitar group, and then as part of a band. Steve is patient, good-humored, and really knows his music. For a complete beginner like me, this is a wonderful place to learn a new instrument!
I've been going to music lessons for the last 4 years taking adults group lessons. I loved the brotherhood within the class. It helped me to keep me motivated with my busy schedule. I've also really enjoyed how Steve teaches and, in addition to that, he's a true nice down-to-earth dude!
I've gotten much better at guitar since taking classes with Steve. I've moved on to playing in a band with other students through the school and it's an amazing experience. Steve isn't sketchy or underhanded, and I have no reason to believe that negative reviews are valid
This place used to be called Acoustic Axis Instruments, and the owner changed the name to this place both at the same address, likely in an attempt to avoid the horrible reviews and shady business practices tied to Acoustic Axis Instruments caused solely by the owner Steve Attix you can still see the past reviews for it on Google and Yelp. Steve Attix, is still involved with this place as a teacher/owner. From my personal experience, I can tell you the owner Steve Attix is very dishonest, shady, and would lie on a daily basis to customers and to his vendors to rip people off constantly and avoid responsibility through numerous schemes. The name changed to "Del Ray School of Music" after Acoustic Axis Instruments "closed", but owner Steve Attix is still there. They were broken into years ago and guitars that belonged to his vendors were stolen, likely for a fraudulent insurance claim. Don't trust this place to give you honest prices or service, and avoid the owner Steve Attix like the plague!
I’ve been taking drum lessons here for the last year and it’s by far the best music school I’ve attended. The instructors are professional and the school admin/billing is efficient and well run.
The teachers here are fantastic and the community is great. Top notch classical instrument instructors.
