Delta Sigma Theta Sorority

The Deltas of Charlotte played a huge part with the celebration of our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding last month. We started the wedding journey over two years ago in 2020, after a dear friend, who happened to be a Delta, suggested we contact the Delta House as the venue for our daughter’s wedding. We started planning, with Chairperson Cynthia Smith, but had to postpone due to the Corona virus. They did assure us that as soon as it was safe, we would restart the planning. In early 2022, we were given the okay to restart the planning. Cynthia was absolutely wonderful. We presented her with some real challenges, but we were able to pull this off with no issues. She was always kind, professional and provided great vendor recommendations that we utilized. One in particular was the wedding planner, Krystle Baldwin, who happened to be a Delta. Her expertise made a world of difference with the planning. The wedding was held on May 7th, 2022 and it was just fabulous!! Attended a birthday party. Nice building, excellent area it's located in.

My experience with the Delta of Charlotte Facility was not the greatest experience. There were two reasons that my sisters and I chose this facility to host my Mother’s 70th Birthday Party: 1. My Mother wanted her event to be hosted in a black establishment and 2. That the location was ideal for people to get to it. However, if would have known that their customer services were subpar and that they did not have adequate tables and chairs to host my Mother’s 70th Birthday Party we definitely would have went to another establishment. On there voice mail and website it states that they can seat 125 people. In my case they never clarified that the setup would include different types of tables to get to your 125. I did tell them that I want to use round tables. My sisters and I told them from the start that it would be at least 120 guests. At no point did the facility manager tell me that in order to accommodate that amount of people that they would have to utilize all of their round tables and rectangular tables to get that setup. I order the appropriate table linens and centerpieces for 12 tables thinking that their rounds could accommodate 10 people. I was wrong they could only accommodate 8 people to the table. The facility manager setup the hall for 96 people after I communicated that I had 128 confirmed guests. After the setup person was able to set the room up to accommodate 117 guests but I had to utilize different types of lined for the additional tables which made my décor look tacky. The facility manager showed no regard or concerns or care about her mistake. The facility manager took no ownership at all. Delta of Charlotte Facility is responsible for the configuration of the room. My Mother was not satisfied with the décor because it was not matching. I was so hurt but we carried on and press through it. I believe that all of this would have not happen if I was able to get a final walk through like stated in my contract. The Facility Manager was too busy to comply with the contract and we were not able to sit down and talk out the details of the event. I did email the facility manager my total count and the event schedule. She never shared that the round tables that they have only seat 8 people to the table. When I got there to setup for the event, I noticed that she only had the hall setup for 96 people and I was expecting 128 people for my Mother’s party. Delta of Charlotte never gave me any type of compensation for their mistakes. They never acknowledge their negligence. The Facility Manager was rude and disrespectful. May 21, 2022 was supposed to be a joyous and memorable event for my family. We pressed through it but this left a stain.

I have attended meetings and community events at the Delta Center. Everything has always been quality programming done with class and style.

Clean in and out, nice size indoors and a lot of parking. great place to host up scale parties and events! Staff was very nice and friendly as well.

We went for a birthday party. The venue was set up very nicely I like how comfortable and cozy it was inside.

Wonderful staff very kind allowed me to see the inside of their building but the prices are kind of pricey!
